Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse

OMG, terrible experience. This place seriously needs new management. As a Brazilian eating Brazilian food, I was deeply disappointed. Here’s a list of what went wrong:
1. Organization & cleanliness
As soon as you walk in, there are coats and jackets everywhere—on the floor, chairs, and tables. There’s clearly no coat check, and it makes the place look messy and unprofessional.
2. Bathroom conditions
Absolutely unacceptable. The toilet was dirty, there was no toilet paper, and the soap dispenser was leaking soap everywhere. Just disgusting.
3. Food quality
Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. Everything tasted like coriander, overpowering all flavors.
• Pão de queijo: hard as a stone.
• Feijoada (the most iconic Brazilian dish): not available at the counter. I ordered à la carte and received inedible beans, clearly old and again tasting like coriander.
• Rice: no comments—a child could make it better.
• Mashed potatoes: tasted like instant mash.
• Farofa: very old, dry, and flavorless.
• Meat: the only decent item, but some pieces were served cold.

Final straw:
The staff was eating in the dining area right next to customers’ tables!!!!

I left feeling sad and extremely disappointed. This place does not represent Brazilian food or hospitality at all.

This place is always a winner for me! The service is fantastic, Amariah and the rest of the staff are super friendly and attentive. And the food is delicious – even at the bar!

We had a 6 person lunch party around midday and the atmosphere was amazing. The dinning area is a beautiful open area with a sleek modern design with great chill atmosphere and plenty of tables and space. Astonishingly enough it still manages to feel like you have your own intimate dining experience. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. Our server Amariah was the best server we’ve ever had. Very attentive and friendly. Definitely worth trying and don’t forget to ask for Amariah!!!!!

I've been here twice, and they did an amazing job both times. Picanha and top sirloin steaks are especially good. You can even ask for your preferred temperature when they bring them to your table. In terms of sides, the Pão de Queijo is almost as good as a dedicated bakery's, the roasted garlic is like that of an Italian restaurant, and the Bacon is like glazed or candied, lol. $80 for AYCE steak & sides can be expensive, but you can get sweet flavored Caipirinhas for only $10. Service is very friendly and multilingual (Thanks Pablo :) )

Food was amazing, the salad bar is very good too. However they are obviously understaffed. Even though all the staffs tried their best but the service is quite slow, our group wait for almost 20 minutes before someone came to serve us some water and take orders. Same thing happened when we wanted to pay, nobody was available to check us out. They very nice btw, add 1 more server should make the service flow a little better.

This was the worst dining experience I've had in a long while. A friend and I wanted an easy lunch so came to Fogo in FiDi. We waited for a hostess and had to ask the barman to track her down. Once seated, our waiter Pablo was so kind and really made is feel welcomed. Unfortunately he was very busy and we only saw him twice more in the two hours of dining. Given how we saw him running around in multiple sections, we were forgiving. The problem I have is the service level. The first meat server was slicing meat, some fell off onto the floor and was left on the floor beside our table for the entire two hours service. After the meat servers ignored my table for at least 15 minutes Emariah checked on us and made sure to speak with the meat servers. One server came over and we didn't see another one for what seemed like 20 minutes. A second server came over and then went to speak with the kitchen and the manager. The manager comes over and finally we get consistent service to eat the grilled meats we paid $80 to eat! If you are a new yorker, DO NOT WASTE MONEY HERE!!! You will pay at least $80 a head to be treated poorly. It's designed to be a money trap for tourists who think it's okay to pay this much and have bad service because they think NYC is fast and rough. The food is solid but the terrible level of customer service left a sour taste in my mouth. I'll never eat at this location again!
