While we enjoyed the food itself - we had the chicken parm and stuffed shrimp - the ambiance was lacking as it was brightly lit (like a classroom) and the tables were too close to each other. However, our main disappointment was that just as our food arrived, a 30-35 person birthday party entered, occupying a singular long a table that traversed the entire back half of the restaurant; this COMPLETELY changed the evening and took away from the experience. I cannot believe this restaurant 1) allowed a party/table this large without renting out the entire room to them and 2) didn’t notify any other guests about this before this. The room became louder than a concert hall. And the staff was MIA as they catered to people who arrived a 60 We felt bad for all the families eating around us. Maybe we just had the wrong type of expectations for a Saturday evening. Perfect for NYU college student birthday party but not for a date night. Food was delicious but it’s a shame everything else was below expectations.

It's been 8 months since I've been to Forlini's, and that's a sin. But the portions are so large that it only makes sense that I space my visits, right? RIGHT?Seriously, stop in for pasta - I love their linguini - and anything seafood.Friendly staff, full bar, old-school Italian joint that's perfect for a family gathering, or even a date. Forlini's is a gem.

I only rated this high because of the very pleasant owner and the taste of the food. Otherwise it was one of the worst experiences we had because of the waiter who thinks he was so smart… We have been to NY for so many times and we have never experienced this. The waiter himself was also originally from a diffrent counrty but i think he has some issues with the counrty that we are from. First of all when he came to the table my husband asked for a wine list and he said you will ask for that later let me get what you want to eat. Then when i asked about a vegetable on the menu he gave a smart answer. He said I need to experience different tastes from different cusines and leave just eating my trafitional food aside. I was shocked with his answer but I chose not to be on the same level as he was! Then when my husband asked for the wine list again then he said leave that to me I will bring a glass of wine for you. Then he brought 2 glasses of the house wine which was ok but the attitude was terrible. Then we wanted to have a bottle of wine and again with the same smart mouth attitude he gave us a lecture by saying we should never ask for a house wine if we want a quality wine. First we did not ask for a house wine and secondly we had had house wines that were very delicious before. And at the end of the meal first we didn’t want to have a dessert but then wanted to see the menu. And this time again with his smart mouth attitude he told me those desserts are way different from the desserts that we are used to eat back home. I do not want to either write your name or your nation mr smart mouth waiter but you need to bring yourself together to be a better person! We have been to many countries probably close to your age and have never experienced this type of attitude! I do not want to under score this beautiful restaurant because of his lack of personality! But I hope the people eho visits this restaurant mever have to put up with this man!!!

A special thank you from our restaurant to yours. This was one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I had on my trip to NYC. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with that old school Italian hospitality. The drinks, food and vibe was everything you could want, still so impressed this family works here everyday to make this place so special. Thank you guys again :-) sending love from Seattle

Recently moved to NYC and was craving authentic Italian food. Found this gem in Little Italy and let me say, this far exceeded our expectations. This is quite possibly the best Italian food we’ve ever had, which includes any Italian restaurant we visited when we toured Italy. From the perfectly balanced lasagna, to the flavorful spinach and ricotta stuffed manicotti, even the salad was palette pleasing. Don’t forget to splurge and get dessert too, the cheesecake is phenomenal! The icing on the cake was the delightful service, beyond exemplary! We waited less than 10 minutes for a carry out order and when we arrived home, the food was perfectly packaged and was the perfect temperature. I would highly recommended and you are missing out if you haven’t tried Forlini’s!

My wife and I stumbled upon this place in our day adventure to the area. We originally planned to just have a cocktail and be on our way. Once we had settled in and sipped on our very generous poured drink. We started to conversation with a local "Eugine " a kind gentleman with wise words.. At this point we had realized that we should be in the moment and indulge in the food as well. "Walter", our bar tender, helped us narrow down our decision and landed on sharing the stuffed manicotti and meatballs. This is hands down the best Italian food we have ever had . This place is something special and you will not find many places like this. So if you have a chance to go, it is well worth it.Thanks Walter Nick and Shannon

We love Forlini's!! The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were in NYC for 3 nights and had dinner there twice. We actually had a reservation at another Italian restaurant on the 2nd night and were not happy with the atmosphere. I called Forlini's and explained we had been there the night before and wondered if they could get us in that night..YES, without hesitation. We jumped on the subway and were seated within 30 minutes of the phone call. Food is excellent! service is amazing, Jack and Walter are both phenomenal servers! The accommodations that they can do for you and the personal service you receive will make you feel like part of their family. Highly recommend the trip to Forlini's; you will not be disappointed

This is by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had. And as amazing as the food is, the service and hospitality is even better. The owner and all the staff make you feel so welcome and apart of the family. If you’re coming to NYC to eat and you don’t come here then you wasted your trip

I can’t say enough about the experiences we have had at Forlini’s. We have been dining here for many years. We travel in from Connecticut and it’s our first pick for dining. The food is yummy (old school Italian) and the staff is amazing. I always look forward to returning…. ❤️

Stopped in for dinner after reading other traveller’s reviews. It’s a retro and I imagine it must have been in business for decades and decades. It’s very cozy. After looking over the menu decided to go with The Gourmet Dinner which includes a sampling of nearly their entire menu - hot antipasto, homemade pasta, entree, dessert and a shot of limoncello. One of my favorite meals during my birthday trip to NYC.

The waiters were so friendly and helpful. They are very patient. We are not from here and they helped us a lot. By far the best meal we have had this trip! The food is so delicious and is true Italian.??

Went for dinner last night based on all the reviews I read. It was the worst food I had in a very long time. The veal cutlet was dry and plain no flavor at all. The soup was super salty and the spidini was just a fried grilled cheese, again no flavor. So disappointed to make a trip into the city for that.
