I've been to French Roast many times, but if this was the first time, I wouldn't return. Our server just wasn't good. She wasn't friendly, and if the hotess hadn't pitched in about 3 separate times, we wouldn't have had any coffee. The food was excellent, as always, but the service was really disappointing.
There is a reson French Roast is still here after many years and many others have come and gone. Its consistently good, everyone is freindly and prices are reasonable. They ahve outlasted many who thought they were better.
We went at a very quiet time on a Tuesday afternoon, so I can't verify how quiet it will be at Dinner or a Sunday Brunch. I was able to sample an array of dishes from their Happy Hour menu. I had mussels, chicken pate, and truffle fries. It was all so good. My boyfriend had their hamburger and he said it was delicious. We had a wonderful meal at a reasonable price.
