I've been to three other Friedman's, but solely for breakfast. It was a treat to discover that dinner is also very high quality, and the service friendly and helpful as ever.
The breakfast food was excellent, as was the service. I highly recommend Friedman's restaurant!
Only annoying thing is the wait staff kicked us out after an hour - we were there on business so pretty annoying
Fast friendly service, delicious food, updated and inviting and warm atmosphere. Good vibes all around.
Friedman's never disappoints- and Herald Square is my favorite location. Thank you for a delicious meal for my daughter's 17th birthday!
They do not have a kids menu and cannot make any modifications to the menu according to our waitress. Keep that in mind if dining with children. I am gluten free and enjoyed the menu - specifically the lemon ricotta pancakes.
Friedman's is a great place to get good breakfast items all day! They also have lunch and dinner options. The service was great and the facility is very bright and clean.
Cozy and comfortable place to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal away from home. Delicious and generous portions and never made us feel rushed. Love Friedman's!
Ate here twice, dinner and breakfast. No issues, quick service and good price for NYC.

Great location and wide variety menu. Enjoyed the breakfast and lunch items. Prices reasonable. It was busy when we were there and service was a bit overwhelmed

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and every single visit reminds me why I keep coming back: the food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is warm, and the staff is genuinely kind and hardworking.
I was actually present earlier today during the situation mentioned in a recent negative review — apparently an individual named Yagmurlu. What that review leaves out is that the staff — including the manager, who is always nothing but professional — handled an extremely difficult and confrontational guest with patience and courtesy. No restaurant, no matter how good, can satisfy someone who arrives determined not to be pleased. It’s unfortunate that a moment of unnecessary hostility was turned into a misleading review.
For anyone considering a visit: this is one of the most welcoming and reliably wonderful spots around. The service has always been attentive, the team treats customers with respect, and the food never disappoints. I recommend it wholeheartedly and will continue to come back often.

We chose to brunch at Friedman’s because we loved it the day before and decided to come back. Our daughter arrived a few minutes early but was refused seating without any explanation. Although there were open tables at that time, once we arrived we were seated at the only table left, at the very back close to the restroom.
Since we were hoping to repeat the same pleasant experience, we asked if a different table was available. The manager responded by telling us that we should be “happy to have a table”. When we mentioned that we had been there the previous day and returned with a reservation, she replied, “Everyone has a reservation and everyone you see here was here yesterday too — we’re always full,” in a clearly sarcastic and dismissive tone.
Obviously, she didn’t care at all, assuming customers would keep coming anyway. This attitude made us feel unwelcome, and we left without eating.
Policies are understandable — disrespect is not.
