In the end, the Milners paid for changing the essence of what Gabriela and Artie Cutler started. The Amersterdam restaurant of the 90s was amazing. The Columbus restaurant of the 2000s was over-priced, over-lit, quality of food and service went down as the years went by. Having the owners blame their closing on the minimum wage is indicative of the management style and goals. The lost the thread years ago.

Sad to say this restaurant has closed. It was the neighborhood hang out spot for drinks and food. The seating outside would always be cramped in the summer. Really sad it's gone.

Too bad it's closed. Gabriela's was my go to on the UWS. The Margaritas, Oaxaca Chicken, Carnitas Urupan, Cochinitas Pibil, Agave Ribs, and Enchiladas Patria were amazingly great. The overhead based on the space they had must have been beyond belief. Hoping that they can come up with a new location.
