I was shocked by how poor the service was. I speak English and have lived in several countries, but they didn’t even explain the menu to me, probably because I’m Asian.
The same thing happened to another Asian guest, yet they explained everything to a White–Asian couple.
No one checked on us even once during the meal, no questions about how the food was, whether we were ready for the next course, or if they could clear our plates.
The server who handled the payment even stepped on my foot without apologizing. I was going to say something, but they seemed busy training someone and the servers kept switching; one was friendly, the other two were very rude.
It honestly felt like I was at a fast-food place. After lunch, we went to CVS, and their staff were friendlier than the staff here.

Gallagher’s absolutely delivered. From the moment you walk past the dry-aging room, you know you’re in the right place. The steaks are phenomenal—perfect char, incredible flavor, and cooked exactly right. The tomahawk was the standout, and the sides were just as solid.
Service was smooth, the atmosphere felt classic New York in the best way, and everything came out hot and perfectly prepared. If you want a real steakhouse experience, Gallagher’s is the place. Worth every penny and a guaranteed return visit.

Beautiful old world decor. $34 lunch special is cheap for an upscale place like this. Unfortunately, the positives end there. Waitstaff are union employees meaning they do not need to be polite to customers if they choose not to. As well, the steak came out room temperature rather than hot. Sides were the right temperature to note, which leads me to believe they prepare the steak in advance and let it sit on a platter. And the servers grab them there and put them on a plate of freshly made sides, which are actually hot.

I'm been eating at Gallagher‘s for decades and I've always enjoyed my dining experience there. Of late I have to say they have upped their game substantially in every respect-the look of the room, the stellar staff and service, and what could be more perfect than one of their aged beef offerings. In my opinion it's become one of New York's absolute musts when visiting this city and I invite anyone who has an opportunity to enjoy their hospitality and fine food to make their way there. This restaurant excels at lunch. The midday menu delivers great value, and that’s where the kitchen seems most consistent. We also tried the tomahawk steak; it was fine, but nowhere near the level suggested by the hype. My work takes me to steak houses across the U.S. and abroad, so my reference frame is fairly broad. For a recent family occasion in Midtown, Gallagher’s was one of the few available options, and the service and atmosphere were exactly what you want from a classic New York institution.
The steaks, however, were surprisingly average for a place with this level of reputation. After visiting, it became obvious that many of the glowing online reviews are from tourists whose exposure to high end steakhouses in the U.S. may be limited. The ambiance and service are excellent, but if you’re going specifically for a top tier steak, temper expectations. Their lunch menu remains the best value, not the signature cuts.

Highly recommend this restaurant! Our tour guide suggested it and reservations were easy to make and change. The hostess was very accommodating when we asked to be moved to a table. The lunch prix fixe menu was excellent, especially the filet mignon tips, and the portions were generous. We will definitely return!

Had dinner at Gallagher’s Steakhouse with friends visiting from Hawaii, and it was a fantastic throwback Vegas experience.
The restaurant has that old-school Rat Pack charm, and our server welcomed us quickly with great service. We started with shrimp scampi (a hit with the table) and a perfectly balanced wedge salad.
The star of the night was the tomahawk steak — cooked beautifully, seasoned just right, and perfect for sharing. We finished with the warm toffee pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, the ideal way to end a steakhouse meal.
Great food, classic atmosphere, and a memorable night all around. Gallagher’s is a solid choice for anyone craving a timeless Vegas steakhouse experience.
