Top notch service and dining experience. Food was prepared to perfection. I highly recommend the 8oz filet and lobster tail. The Tiramisu is a great way to end the night alongside a cup of coffee. Loaded baked potatoe was a great side choice. Date idea, have them split in half to share since there is so much food. Also great bread selection. Great cocktails.

Incredible experience and food!! We had the best time here!! 4 of us and we all got the lunch special filet mignon which was perfect!! We all got the soup of the day cream of tomato and it was the best tomato soup I’ve ever had!! 3 of our party got the cheesecake and said it was amazing and I got the ice cream which was perfect! The waiters were all fantastic and were so nice!! The restaurant had so much character and can’t wait to hopefully go next year for their 100th year!! Overall 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

3/20/2026 We had a wonderful experience at Gallaghers! We were well taken care of by Patrick ☘️. He shared some lovely stories with us and brought us amazing cocktails (try the Old Fashioned) and the most delicious steaks. We highly recommend the filet and the Brussels sprouts as a side. You will not be disappointed by the food and if you are lucky enough to meet Patrick, the service will also be top notch.

I was a bit worried when booking that this might be an overrated tourist trap, especially for lunch, but it turned out to be the exact opposite.
The service was prompt, warm, and genuinely friendly. The food was excellent, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for NYC. We ordered the lunch special: a 3-course meal for $34, and upgraded to an 8oz filet for just $22 more. For $54 total, we got a salad, steak, two sides, and dessert—an incredible value.
And the quality absolutely delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and honestly one of the best filets I’ve had in a long time. The sides were great, the salad was fresh, and the cheesecake was delicious.
The atmosphere really adds to the experience too, from the wall of aging steaks when you walk in to the classic, dark-paneled booths. It’s relaxed, timeless, and just a great place to be.
Easily one of the best pre-theater meals I’ve had in NYC. I’d 100% come back.
