The atmosphere is classic and full of character — perfect for a special a memorable meal. The food was incredible, especially the steaks, and everything was cooked to perfection. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience. Highly recommended!
Overall meal was pretty bad. Filet was tough and poorly cooked, Lyonnaise were like potato chips, clams casino was decent, old fashion was sweet, red wine was corked. Inattentive bartender, could have cared less.
Such a fabulous dining experience! Food, service and atmosphere were all amazing. So happy we got to experience Gallaghers on our trip to New York!
Was absolutely brilliant 👏 1st class all around .
The complimentary bread was amazing and definitely a great start. We started off with and beef stew which was soup of the day, rock shrimp, and caesar salad they all hit the spot especially the shrimp. We got the tomahawk steak and the meat quality was absolutely incredible. Tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We also got the sirloin steak which was just as impressive. The mashed potatoes were hands down the best thing we’ve had, creamy and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the lyonnaise potatoes, hash browns, and regular fries were disappointing and lacked flavor. I really enjoy the side dishes a lot and was very disappointed
Another thing I wish was better were the sauce options. I usually enjoy my steak with peppercorn, mushroom, or A1 sauce, but the alternatives here didn’t quite hit the mark.
We ender lunch with a delicious creamy cheesecake.
What really made the night special was the service. We were celebrating our graduation and both Steve and George were outstanding. From start to finish they were friendly, attentive, helpful, and made great recommendations. Huge shoutout to both of them for making the experience unforgettable. Thanks to them!
Steak was extremely tough. Couldn't even cut some pieces with a steak knife nevermind chewing it.
First time back in NY in about 30+ years to celebrate my Bday. Gallagher's provided a perfectly cooked 14oz filet complimented
with mashed potatoes, broccoli and a red wine to bring out the ultimate flavor of my steak. The service, food and atmosphere were perfect for the occasion. Thank you Gallagher 's Steakhouse for making the 61st birthday extra special.
Exceptional in every way! Our lunch at Gallaghers was truly next level. The food was outstanding—every bite packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable, warm and professional from start to finish. And the atmosphere? Elegant, classic, and full of character. It was one of those dining experiences you don’t forget. Highly, highly recommend!
It's probably the best steak house with the best lunch deal! The starter bread with butter is fantastic, the soup of the day is always the best choice, and the steak with side dishes ends with dessert. It's such a perfect combo in a lunch set!
I really enjoyed the lunch special

Everything was super tasty even better than I expected. I’ll definitely be back!
Filet mignon and cheesecake were very delicious.
Myself and my wife visited Gallaghers on Wednesday May 13th, we were in the city for my wife's 50th birthday and decided to book a reservation prior to flying over on the recommendation of our good friend Jo, wife of British Retail Mogul, Nick, who had visited a few years back. We arrived promptly for a 7pm reservation and were greeted warmly and shown to our, we were then introduced to Dan & George who would be looking after for the evening, Dan expertly ran us through the menu with dry wit exuding from every orifice, taking great pleasure in the fact we had overshot with the sides and we should probably best losing one. We ended with an order or Lobster Cocktail & Steak Tartare to start, with a shared Porterhouse along with a side of Fries & Broccoli Rabe for main. Let me tell you my wife nearly fell off her chair when the Lobster Cocktail arrived, not knowing whether to eat it or climb it, with the Steak Tartare providing a refined tang to two beautifully crafted appetisers, the Porterhouse Steak arrived to a round of applause from myself, medium rare of course, it was begging me to tackle it head on, but I had to remember it was my wife's birthday and whilst fighting off inner demons, reluctantly agreed to share, a mesmerising meal, in an environment that gives shades of by gone Al Capone speakeasy vibes, a truly wonderful experience that should be on the hitlist for anyone visiting NYC, the meat fridge is worth the admission money alone. We can't wait to revisit when are back in NYC.
We got the porterhouse to share and it was cooked and aged really well. Sides: broccoli rabe sautéed with garlic (good), lyonnaise potatoes (overcooked)
Dessert: crème brûlée (light and citrusy, good end to the heavy meal)
Our flight got delayed and we missed the reservation but I called and they were kind enough to accommodate us 😮💨
This is steak ... cant say more, except for: excellent..
