Sorry but these were terrible. I tried to bake them and my friends and I were very disappointed of the outcome. I would not recommend these.
Walked by and saw a sign pointing down some shady staircase for cookies (I know how it sounds...) After heading down we arrived at a small tight storefront greeted by absolutely no one. Eventually a staff member came out and we asked what the flavor of the month was. He mumbled "there's none." He wouldn't clarify if it was sold out or what it was. We ended up getting a bueno bueno cookie and a red velvet cookie. A whopping $8.71 per cookie and it was nothing special. The staff member was also more interested in chatting with his colleague about a new hat they had bought than finishing up our order. I should've followed my instincts and avoid shady staircases for desserts in the future. The owner also does not care about the customer experience or the product. Instead of working on their hospitality, they rather make witty replies to negative reviews.
raw overpriced small cookies waste of money
Absolutely infuriating!!! I can’t believe the experience of ordering 2 cookies could be so difficult. Just a classic case of someone not even listening and caring about your order. Ordered cookies in-person. 1 chocolate chip and 1 s’mores. Behold! Came home and opened the box to 2 chocolate chip cookies! What a ripoff paying $8 a cookie for terrible service. AND I LEFT A TIP. I’m just flabbergasted at the incomprehensibility of people. Also, add some salt.
Terrible experience! This was my first time visiting this place to pick up a Too Good To Go order. I’m severely allergic to mango, and after reading a review mentioning a mango peach pie, I got worried the order might contain mango. When I picked it up, I asked the staff, “Is there anything with mango?” His response was rude and dismissive. He said, “Mango? We don’t do anything with mango. Our menu’s right there; do you see anything with mango?” The way he spoke and acted was extremely offensive and mean. What? Like I’m a new customer, am I supposed to be knowledgeable about your fancy menu? Isn’t it your responsibility to tell me what you’re selling? I understand it’s a long day, but as a customer, I don’t deserve to be treated like that. It was a simple yes or no question—there was no need for that kind of aggressive attitude. I’m disappointed. Will not come back again.

The manager has a piss poor, no tact attitude. The cookies are ok and the works are nice and have good customer service, but the leadership is awful. Your service sucks lady, you need to know what you’re talking about before you start talking.

The seasonal flavors are great, and the owner is really nice. But the good ol’ chocolate chip is my personal favorite. Think Levain but with filling

The place looks unsanitary the customer service was horrible I’m guessing she was the owner VERY RUDE!!!!. And for the price just was not worth it. I’m sorry but would rather spend my money on crumble cookies more worth the buck and cheaper compared to those little cookies. They say big cookies believe me not at all. Just a little mud hole made from a dirty basement. PEOPLE PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! OVERRATED!!!!!!!!

Bought a couple flavors and sure it was definitely gooey but I could taste the raw flour. So almost too gooey. I wouldn't be able to even hold onto the cookie; it just kind of melted into the paper packaging. It was a disappointment because the lady upfront seemed so nice and I was recommended by Stephanie Soo in her videos
I visited Gooey on The Inside Cookies in NYC yesterday and tried the Chocolate Chip Chunk, Bueno Bueno, and Dark Chocolate Caramel S’mores cookies. While the cookies were okay, they definitely didn’t live up to the $7 per cookie price tag. Luckily, I went during their 4-6pm cookie happy hour, which brought the price down to $5 for the first two cookies, but even at that discounted rate, I’m not sure they were worth it.
The flavors were decent, but nothing exceptional. For the price, I expected something a bit more indulgent and unique. Unfortunately, I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Dietary restrictions: Unfortunately they do not have gluten free options.

Just some thoughts. The cookies are really good, and they are exactly as the title states: "gooey on the inside." My complaint is more around cost. I realize this is a company out of NY, and I am in the midwest - there's going to be a cost difference. But ground shipping was $17. On top of that, the price point per cookie is around $7. That becomes really expensive, really fast. The shipping is the most expensive I've incurred out of all cookie companies I've used.
