I went to this place for the first time last night and my friend met me there. I was incredibly excited because I found out they have traditional live Irish music every Wednesday night —which is the main reason why I went. I’ve been to Ireland four times. I love Irish music and I was so looking forward to a much needed distraction. I was lucky enough to find a table in the back room across from where the music was to be played. however, as I sat there waiting for my friend, the noise level was so bad that I had to put tissue in my ears! The people to my left and right were yelling so loudly to be able to hear each other that I was shocked. When the music finally started, I could barely hear it because the noise level in that room was so loud. And nobody shut up or quieted down to hear the music. They just continued yelling so loudly it was an absolute nightmare. My friend showed up and the first thing she asked was “where is the music?”. I said it’s right behind you! and she couldn’t believe it because she couldn’t even hear it when she was standing right next to it. It was so disappointing and all I can say is I wish they would have an evening with these wonderful musicians where people talk in a low whisper or leave the room. The only way to hear the music was to stand right next to the band and the music was wonderful. We had to leave after one drink because I have never experienced something like this in my life and I’ve been to Ireland many times. People have respect when the music is playing and they don’t yell over it! so incredibly disappointing. I included a short video of my surroundings, but this was even louder in person.

This is the best bar in the city and one of my favorite places in the world. The staff is warm and the drinks are perfect. I fell in love here a few years back over a couple of absolute creamers and have been coming here ever since.
