Absolutely loved Grand Brasserie in Grand Central. To start, the location is stunning. It is amazing how a full-service, top-tier French restaurant has been built right into Grand Central. The food was delicious. We had a group meal and shared plates and everyone was impressed with the quality and variety of the food. I'll definitely be returning.

Positive things first: food quality and taste is high as is venue which had nice design in the charme of a French brassserie.

Negative: service is bad (1. we needed to wait long to place our order and needed to ask the waiter three times before he took our order, 2. Brought the bread & butter at the end even though it should go first); food was only lukewarm; portions are very small (soup plate was filled to one third only) and restaurant is very overpriced; table water not refilled.

The odd thing is: the restaurant had a million waiters but service is still very poor.

Went for happy hour. They didn't have Guinness, but the space is nice and makes it easy to catch your train.

Grabbed lunch here while waiting for the Apple Store to finish working on my iPhone. The food was really good (though a little pricey) and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for some good French good and/or a glass of wine.

We were there twice, first time for drinks and second time to try the food. That second time was horrible since we got there. The service and the attitude, especially from the manager, leave a lot to be desired. All requests were an inconvenience, the way we were spoken to and the way the manager and the servers would talk about our table right next to us, as if we werent right there...

Will not be going back ever...

A party of 16 people, you can imagine the check...and still horrible because of service and attitude...it was not the speed of the food, quality of food, or the ambiance...just the service, the manager...

Fix it

This is a super convenient location when waiting for a ride to the airport.
Oysters were good. The ravioli was more than Al dents so that parts of it had a little crunch. I was in a rush so didn't send it back. Perhaps it's more of a drink place than dfinner.
The service was ok. They seemed bothered that I needed salt and pepper because the ravioli lacked seasoning. It's the only restaurant where they won't give you grated parmesan for the ravioli. Instead I had to use salt to make it seasoned better. In addition, the ravioli was slight under cooked so there was a little crunch as if the pasta was still raw… but not like fresh pasta. It was Al dente for sure 95% but a tiny bit more would have been good so that there wasn't crunchiness to it. The bread arrived halfway into eating my oysters. I'd give this place a 3.5.

What a cool vibe that only gets better as you move towards the back of the restaurant. Not a true speakeasy, but a fun spot to venture into. Service was on point, as were the cocktails. Highly recommend giving this spot a go!

First, let me say the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It was near Thanksgiving, so the holiday decorations were in full bloom. The food was OK, We started with the lyonaise salad, it was very good. my husband had the French dip, it was filled with lettuce and a white sauce ,very strange. My quiche was good, but I asked if I could have potatoes instead of a salad since I had a salad appetizer, and he said absolutely not. The service was poor. We started with a nice cocktail, we were going to order a bottle of wine but our waiter never returned. Our water was never refilled, and we had to almost grab the waiter to get a check. It was disappointing but very pretty.
