We came at Gu late 2023 and we're happy with the meals especially for the low price. 2 and half years after, it has not changed and remains an excellent choice! The Bento box for dinner is a good choice: copious and tasty for ~$26 ...
Very nice place with excellent staff. Food was OK for the price my husband's beef and shrimp dish with way overcooked but tasty.
Nightly happy hour, great staff and sushi was on point.
Inside is cozy, dimly lit and a great atmosphere.
Staff was very welcoming even though we came close to closing time.

Perfect lunch spot! Always quick and easy to order.
First time getting sushi in the city decided to try this place. I got the Yankee roll and a spicy tuna roll, the tuna color looked a little sketchy but it was $30 so I ate it anyway. It tasted awful and I knew I messed up. Not even 15 minutes later I’m throwing up. Do not recommend the tuna here and will not be coming back.
Went in because of the vegan options available. The miso soup and the vegan sushi were good (not great but I take it because at least there were options). The rest of the party has regular fish sushi and oh man! The sushi was the opposite of fresh - very disappointing. Here’s what they had to say: Some of the fish looked like it had been frozen and thawed, fish in general did not taste fresh, the seaweed in the sushi rolls was hard to bite through, and the mochi was too sweet and sandy.

I was so impressed by how fresh and wholesome the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box tasted at Gu Japanese Fusion Sushi. From the savory chicken to colorful shumai and crisp salad, every bite was a total MealPal win for lunch!

The dinner was great and tasted great for the price, but other tables were served before us including tables who came after us. Notably, we were the only people of color in the restaurant, so that was an uncomfortable experience.
I took my 13‑year‑old niece and a couple of her friends to Gu Japanese Infusion Sushi, and the whole experience was pretty average. The place is small and the prices are definitely friendly, which helps when you’re feeding teenagers who somehow stay hungry no matter how much sushi you order.
The girls were happy with their salmon sushi, the salmon rolls, and the fried rice. One of the girls enjoyed the miso soup. I personally was not impressed with the dishes I tried. I also noticed that we were basically the only people there for most of the time we were there. My niece even said she probably wouldn’t return, though she appreciated that it was cheaper than most spots she’s used to in New York. That’s a plus! Don’t get me wrong, the food is not terrible, but it’s definitely average.
If you need a quick, affordable sushi stop, especially with kids or teens, it does the job. Just don’t expect anything that sticks with you afterward.
