Haandi offers five-star Pakistani food in a one-star environment. Despite the dilapidated setting, the food remains fantastic and feels like home in a foreign place. The naan is exceptional, and dishes like "paey," "Halwa Puri," and "Chole" are flavorful. The "Doodh-Patti" tea is reminiscent of homemade brew. The prices are reasonable for Manhattan, with dishes like the platter, which includes naan, rice, veggies, and optional meat, priced well at around $15-$16. While the facility lacks upkeep, the authentic food makes up for it. The atmosphere may be average, but it adds to the cultural experience. The service is good, although the place may not be very women-friendly. Some dishes, like the Sikh kabab, can be too spicy for some palates. In essence, Haandi is a culinary gem for those seeking delicious and comforting Pakistani cuisine in America.
