The food and service at HAGS was flawless. The various dishes were delicious and creative. There was perfect timing between the courses. Everything was done with genuine love.
It’s obvious that a tremendous amount of thought and care went into everything — from the menu — to the decor — to the service.
There’s an amazing vegan and omnivore menu. The vegan cheeses and butters are made in-house — and taste incredible.
The kitchen staff accommodated my dietary restrictions — and added a creative flair.
It’s a really cute, queer-owned restaurant. It’s a tiny spot — but everything is very well organized. Everyone feels welcomed, with the full complexity of their identities.

I tried this place because it showed up on some lists of vegan tasting menu places for a special occasion. The vegan option was a sad joke cooked by people who do not seem to have a clue what vegans actually eat. The portions were comically tiny and calorically inadequate compared to what was being served on the other menu. Flavors were bland, often underseasoned, and textures were unpleasant. Total waste of money. Go someplace else where they actually understand how to cook with plants.

Highly recommend this place, had a great time celebrating a friends birthday. Service is great and everyone is so nice + knowledgeable. The food + wine pairing is very fun and playful (we did the vegan course). Importantly, everything has a local touch and feels community-driven, true to the ethos. While the initial courses didn’t blow me away, the dessert courses truly were amazing! Kohlrabi coconut ice cream, what?

Everything was so incredible. I went alone to treat myself and all the staff were SO kind and all the food was indescribably delicious. I had the vegan menu with non-alcoholic pairings. I’m neurodivergent so I was scared to try new food too, but I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT and kept eating until my stomach was about to explode - no regrets.I still think of some of the meals.
My first order of business next time I travel to NY is to reserve a table. If I were living anywhere in the Americas, I would fly to NYC just to eat there. Hands down the best dining experience I have ever had.

From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the service stood out, welcoming, relaxed, and attentive without being overbearing. The interiors are fantastic: thoughtful, cosy, and elegant.
The food itself strikes a rare balance – it’s creative and complex but still comforting and deeply satisfying. I sometimes find vegan food can be a little too fussy or overwrought, but everything here felt perfectly cooked, with flavours that were layered and well balanced.
Both the wine and non-alcoholic pairings were excellent, and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, happy to share details etc.
