What an absolute gem this place is. I can't decide which was better - the food or the service. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a Michelin star type of experience but without the pretentiousness. Cant wait to be back!
The omnivore tasting menu at Hags is exceptional. The warm Carolina gold rice brioche with warm apple butter to start was the perfect beginning, their yellow corn grits with mushrooms was a dish where I wanted to lick the plate when I was done. The duck course was another outstanding one and I did all this with an inventive wine pairing with offerings I’ve never experienced before that had me snapping photos of bottles as Camille talked passionately about each pour. Second time in two years and both times have been a knockout. Great food, kind service and great atmosphere. Wine selection is strong, drinks are strong. Highly recommend for a fancy but casual night out that feels like you’re at a friends house
