Always nice to spice things up with a different option, as opposed to the usual Italian, Chinese, Mexican, etc. Cozy atmosphere, great communal dishes, and family orientated and friendly service. Ethiopian beer is a nice change from IPAs and the wide variety of dishes will not leave your tastebuds wanting. There can be a wait on the weekends, but that’s testament to its quality. There are also plenty of bars nearby to pass the time while you wait.

This is my favorite restaurant in NYC - hands down. I wake up everyday thinking, “Will I have Haile today?” and I have to restrain myself from coming here all the time. I crave the kitfo and the doro wot chicken, plus the veggies are delicious, even for this carnivore. To be honest, I haven’t tried anything else on the menu because those two dishes alone are ?. And the ladies who run this place treat you like family

Excellent food! We made a reservation for a Thursday night and we’re glad we did. The space is small and bustling, but absolutely worth a try. We did the vegetarian platter plus one side and it was plenty of food for two people.

Amazing Ethiopian food! Chicken was cooked perfectly and the other entrees were delicious. This is also one of the only Ethiopian restaurants in NYC that does NOT charge for sharing. The place is small and cute with art and nice warm lighting. The women that run the place are also great.

This place is super cozy! It’s run by women that make you feel at home. They clearly work so hard and the place has such positive vibes. The food was so authentic and layered with flavors. The service is attentive and warming. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and I don’t know why I was nervous! I really wanted a delicious meal and I definitely got one here. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful Ethiopian spot that's been in the neighborhood for along time. Broad menu to choose from. There isn't anything on it I wouldn't try. For six of us we got a shared plate for three and a shared plate for two. It was more than enough. Great tastes all the way around. I was hungry when we went in but I wish I could have had more.
