Han Dynasty is one of my go-to restaurants for quality Chinese food in NYC. It is not a hole-in-the-wall establishment like many of the other Chinese restaurants in the city (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The space is large and comfortable, and the food is consistently delicious with very good drink options. The price point is also reasonable considering the location. I like how the menu specifies the spice level of each dish on a scale of 1-10, although I find the calibration to be more American rather than Szechuan spice levels, no surprise. But if you need a real hit just ask for an 11 and the chef will deliver.
Was a walk-in on a Saturday night at eight, but this place is huge and we were seated within twenty mins! Noise levels on the lower end, even when the place was busy!
Our order was quickly taken by our friendly server, Jeevan, which included: Ginger Sour String Beans (nice and garlicy), Chicken Lo Mein, Veggie Fried Rice, Cumin Fries, Dry Pot Style (Chicken, and Tofu). Food was in-line with expectations and hit all the right spots! I wish it was a little spicy, and their 10/10 spice level is not that spicy! Excellent Sichuan food though in the UWS neighborhood. Menu slightly on the expensive side;
Will definitely be frequenting this place for their super quick service, and good food!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly 😎

Went out for dinner on a Friday night, and after a very rude manager sort of tanked the vibes of the meal, Yun was nice enough to give us a $50 credit over the phone for our next meal. Overall, I enjoyed the crazy peanuts, the mains are fair, and both our servers were lovely. Gluten free options as well. Thank you Yun for your fabulous customer service and hopefully that manager was just having an off day :)

expensive, inauthentic szechuan food made with high quality ingredients for the undemanding palates of the UWS. Better to travel to midtown east, flushing or szechuan mountain house in the east village. Great service and nice room.

The food here is fabulous. A local place on the upper west side with the best Chinese food. takeout is always good and when you can eat in, it’s a nice experience. Service is always good whether you come for lunch. They offer lunch special Monday through Friday from 11 to 3 or happy hour at the bar from 4 to 7 or sit down in the beautiful main dining room hot and sour soup and the wonton soup is excellent. Food here always has the best flavors.
Overall decent. Some food is very very good like cumin lamb. Some is very average like sautéed string beans (wasn’t cooked through). Server was very nice but inexperienced and made a bunch of mistakes. The bus guy was super nice too and very on point. The deco is very beautiful

Horrific service from the staff including the manager who refused to accommodate a specific food request.

I’m slightly disappointed - it feels less tasty than a few years ago, pre-Covid. The taste doesn’t feel cooked into the meat, if that makes sense.
Otherwise: Waiting time is short. Open till 1AM which I appreciate. Restroom is clean. Service is ok. Overall casual setting. Many seatings. Portion is huge.

Always a family favorite. Nice spicy Schezuan fare. Always flavorful and have big family portions.
High ceilings make it seem roomier.

If you are a large group, this is a restaurant I would definitely recommend. We were 8 people and each of us said different things. When you share, you get to taste many things. If you like spicy, definitely stop by here.
