I found out about this restaurant in the hotel when I was looking for a place near the NYPL. I was glad to be able to make a late afternoon reservation, and was glad I found a place with so many others booked until evening. Had a group of 6. Food was fantastic. Service was poor. Waited a very long time to get our order. Two members of our group never received their first course. Wait staff rarely checked in. Must not have been communicating with kitchen staff. To their credit, they brought everyone free dessert.
Lunch 2 course special is a great deal at $25. They give you a lot of food. Charred eggplant dip was tasty. Wild mushroom risotto also tasty although I had to pick out the mushrooms for being too earthy and chewy. The other people in my party had mixed reviews of their food. While kind, our server left half way through service. They restaurants wasn't busy but we waited at least 45 minutes for food to come out. Servers weren't very attentive. The atmosphere is nice.
