Food was decent, but that’s where the positives end. My capellini came out with a large piece of glass in it—yes, actual glass. When I brought it up, the response was a dismissive, “We’ve been in business 50 years, this has never happened.” Hard to believe, and even harder to accept when the only remedy offered was a free dessert. No real apology, no sense of urgency, nothing.
Service throughout the night was noticeably uneven. They did check in, but nowhere near as often as the older, wealthier tables around us who received constant attention. For us—a small party of two—the service was slow and inconsistent. It took almost an hour to get our food, and we were largely left on our own in the meantime.
I had mentioned multiple times that I was celebrating my birthday, hoping for at least a small acknowledgment. Instead, I watched them sing happy birthday to other parties while completely ignoring mine. It was disappointing and honestly felt dismissive.
Between the unsafe food, the lackluster and uneven service, and the total absence of effort to make a birthday dinner feel even slightly special, I won’t be returning. The food itself was good, so I’ll give them one star for that alone—but the overall experience was a major letdown.
1/10. Would not recommend.

I never went to the former location but now it's in my nabe!
The service is perfection, very attentive but not rushed. The food was delicious and the bread and cheese starter course would have been a meal for me on a regular day. The staff was very good about catering to veg diners. The prices are what you would expect for a high end restaurant in the area. not cheap, but the service and extra touches make it a worth while destination.

Il Mulino just became my favorite Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere, impeccable service, and the food was amazing. Just booked again for the end of December.

Il Mulino is as good as it gets in New York and where you'll enjoy fine dining surrounded by people from the neighborhood.
From the excellent service at the door to superior service at the table, you wont be disappointed.

After several visits to the old location, we went to the new address shortly after it opened. As always, the food is excellent and the service is exceptionally friendly. Not very cheap, but still worth a visit.

Il Mulino uptown was my home away from home since day 1! Now Il Mulino Madison will be.
Had dinner last night with family and truly exceptional as always.
The new sauce is elegant, warm and inviting!
The menu sublime as always, the staff top tier.
Wayne the GM is beyond accommodating, kind and professional. Mirsada - head of the bar will make you the best Dirty or Lichee Martini with smiles upon arriving and throughout your night. Everyone one on the line from kitchen and servers show up. Beautiful flower arrangements aswell. A must try. Cheers

The staff is truly exceptional — Mirsada, the Lead Bartender, feels like family, along with Wayne, Giovanna, Rosie, and Musca. Everyone goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Mirsada creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere at the bar; my partner and I have become close friends with her and many of the regulars, and we look forward to our weekly dinners and drinks there.
Giovanna and Wayne are incredible managers who handle busy NYC nights with such grace and professionalism, making every visit enjoyable. The food is consistently delicious — we’ve never once had an incorrect order or a dish that wasn’t perfect.
You must check out the new location on 56th Street — it’s absolutely stunning and chic! The perfect modern facelift for a restaurant that continues to deliver top-quality food, drinks, and hospitality. See you all next week!

Last night, we had the pleasure of eating at Il Milano on 56th st. It was a soft opening, so the menu was limited but really there were so many choices. The waiters were attentive and knew the menu. The food was really superb. I had the Caesar salad( made at the table) perfectly spiced and then Cacio and Pepe. Done perfectly. My husband had clams and chicken parmigiana. That was fantastic and I don’t usually like the dish. We were welcomed by Wayne Lawrence, the regional manager. Go, try a meal, you will thank me for the recommendation.
