Today I spent 17 dollars on a mediocre sandwich and cold brew coffee from here. After dining I asked if I, a student teacher who volunteers her time to the NYCDOE, could have 8 paper plates for my lesson I was teaching. (The school is essentially attached to the cafe and they receive sooo much business from staff and students.) They said they could not give paper plates for free and charged me 4 dollars for 8 paper plates. I understand that they did not want to lose money but to donate 8 paper plates to a local school would have probably cost 50 cents total. This was really upsetting and I will never support this place again!

Cozy little hidden gem cafe. The signage is quite mininal and blends into the building, so you might miss this spot. But it is amazing! The egg and cheese sandwich tasted fresh, and so did the coffee. I just grabbed my food and went, but the atmosphere looks nice, and I would definitely sit down at this place. As with most places in Manhattan though, it's a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

If you want to have a really good tasting coffee in the U.S. (which is really hard to find) try it here!

We were so happy to be able to discover this quiet location, after the hustle and bustle of too many people and ticket sellers at the bottom of Manhattan.

We shared a tasty panini they were kind enough to serve each half on a separate small plate.

The teddy bear biscuit and coffee were also very good, so this made a welcome pit stop on our walking tour.

They charge you an extra dollar for iced no matter what your drink is which is insane because ice drinks are easier and have less ice. Will not return.

The staff was super friendly, and my espresso was just like the Italian espresso. The only two things you need to kickstart your day on the right foot!

Inatesso started out as a bribe my sister used to get me out of bed early on a Saturday morning. Now it’s become part of my family’s regular weekend routine! We enjoy going for the AMAZING fresh pastries and delicious egg sandwiches. But the coffee is spectacular and why I keep coming back! It’s the best in lower Manhattan, hands down. Plus, the staff and the owner are so kind, funny, endearing! They always greet us with a smile, remember our coffee orders and food preferences, and share their love for music when we compliment them on the vibes. It’s always a wonderful Saturday treat I look forward to at the end of the week :)

For the most part, I love their muffins. However, the nasty attitude from the majority of the employees taking the order leaves you with a very bad taste in your mouth. Some of them are lacking customer service. They are incapable to even show a grin. It’s almost if they are doing you a favor by paying for expensive pastries. There is no loyalty for customers who have been going there for years. I recently forgot my CC and wanted to buy a muffin and my app on the phone was not working. They saw me struggling, and none of them said it was OK if I could pay for the muffin at a later time. I understand if this is not possible, but the attitude and dismissive approach are so bad that every time I go there, I feel a bit anxious. I know I have the choice not to go there but for the most part their muffins are good. Also, my family and I like to support local businesses. There have been times in which my order has been wrong and I don’t go back to tell them because I never know what “mood” they are going to be in. They need training on how to be cordial and at least learn how to “fake” a smile.

My family and I have been buying pastries at this place for years. The owner is very nice, but the service is horrible. There is no concept of customer service. Every time my family members or I go there, it feels as it’s our first time. Not even because there is no courtesy or any idea how to treat customers. Recently, my daughter forgot her CC at home and she wanted to buy a muffin. She kept trying to pay with an app, but the phone was not working. They saw her struggling, but did not even say, “Is OK, you come here all the time so you can pay when you come back again.” I understand that perhaps they can’t do that but their cold and almost nasty attitude when they are asking what people want is shameful. Some days are worse than others and we go there thinking how the mood is going to be…we don’t have to go there, but we love to support the businesses in our neighborhood. Also, recently, the muffins taste stale and they have messed up the orders. For instance, when I got home, they had given me the wrong sandwich and drink. However, just the thought of going back to deal with their nasty attitude, stops me from going back to complain. Today is it though, we had enough of the attitude, and the lack of customer service. They need training so they can learn how to “fake a smile at least!”
