Food was okay. However, food took 45 minutes to arrive, and EVERY time you wanted anything you had to flag down the waiter. You had to flag down to order, flag down for another drink, flag down for a dessert menu, etc. There were no napkins. Food was good but it was not a good experience unfortunately.

If you're looking for fresh sushi, this is a great spot. If you're looking for ambiance, go elsewhere. This is primarily a take-out spot, but if you don't care about ambiance and service, the fish is very fresh and value-priced.

don't ask for delivery if you are hungry. I'm waiting for over 2 hours, and I call and the people just say it's on its way. I keep waiting... and this is not the first time this happens. DO NOT RECOMMEND !

I wanted a quick casual bite of sushi with my family. It was cold in the restaurant -- we asked for heat and they told us it was on. But we ate in our coats. The service was terrible...had to walk to register to get our check. And the food was fair, at best. Additionally, there is literally NO ambience. This was my second time at this restaurant and will definitely be my last.

Food was great and so was the service! They gave us free spring rolls and dessert which was delicious. It's off the beaten path but definitely worth it. Will definitely recommend it to friends and will go back

We were in the neighborhood and walked over after searching "near me" on Open Table. The food was good, but the presentation was lacking. The service was good and the food was good, so I might go back when visiting nearby. They had an excellent selection of sushi rolls available. It might have just been an off night or the chef just isn't big on presentation.

Nice neighborhood sushi option. Rock shrimp appetizer was delicious. We had 4 sushi rolls. They were very good also. Restaurant was very quiet. Service was good. Reasonably priced for UES. We would go again.

We were immediately seated. It turned out reservations weren't necessary at the time we went. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Ordered two entrées---one bento and one yakitori. Generous serving size for the money compared to other NYC establishments we dined at that week. However, both the beef (medium well) and chicken (dry) were overcooked, but still edible. I lamented not choosing a sushi or maki option for the bento because the California rolls that came with it were excellent, but I was in a red meat mood that night. In addition to the California rolls, the side salad with its tasty dressing and tempura were the highlights of the dish. The yakitori was disappointing for using breast meat instead of thighs, and having low-effort unseasoned steamed vegetables as the side. Overall, it was a good dining experience. I'd like to try some of the sushi and maki next time.

Great food, value and service! Always consistent. We eat here 30-40 times/year and we are always taken care of by Joe and all of the staff. Tuna pizza and Third Avenue Rolls are highly recommended.

My son and I really enjoyed our meal at Iron Sushi but it was curiously empty the night we dined. They have the best rock adhrimp appetizer I've ever had. It was delicate and fresh tasting rather than heavy handed batter dipped. All sushi was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is stark and not inviting so ?i think I'll definitely do take-out in the future.

The sushi was fantastic as was everything else. Its all chef's choice so it is a great surprise what is coming out next. The restaurant is a bit plain and a bit boring. If you are going strictly for the food and have deep pockets then this is your place

Food at this restaurant is always decent. For the price, it is very fair. I've been a few times before and have always been very happy but on the last visit they were clearly understaffed. It was a rather lackluster dining experience.

Usually order from the one in Murray Hill; always solid. The UES location was very accommodating even when our party was the last one at the restaurant and kept then open past their usual time.

A normally very good neighborhood restaurant lost its way. The best we could make out, there was a problem in the kitchen and simultaneous lack of communication by the waiter. The meal took twice as long as it should have taken. Half of the appetizers came out after a noticeably long wait and the rest came out with the main course. Waiter did not give us any heads-up about the kitchen problem - until we asked what was happening. Then only a portion of one person's meal was brought out. No attempt at fixing the problem - or letting us know that there even was a problem. The waiter didn't even understand there was a problem on our part - until we told him there was a problem. We had been to this restaurant several times before this and were never disappointed. However, after such a badly botched meal, a few of us have refused to return. Too many other good restaurants in NYC to waste our time and money here.
