This place took me on an adventure into a type of Japanese cuisine I didn't know existed. The interior was a world away from the busy streets of New York, beautiful and ordered. I honestly felt like I was in a another world. It is a meal I will remember for a long time.

Wow, that was a let down. Went to Izakaya Ronin on the 25th July 2024 after a great experience at the sister restaurant Yopparai a couple of days earlier. We sat down and started ordering Sake and directly the server become super rude. Not sure why to be honest. He keeps ignoring us while being super friendly with the 2 other groups in the restaurant. when he speaks to us he is short and rude. In the end we had enough and for the first time in my life I give 7.5% tip as the services was so poor. And then after two days I discover they altered my tip so it was 20%. To say I'm disappointed is grave understatement. Never going back.

Friends told us about this place because they knew we'd just spent a couple of weeks in Japan and were desperately trying to keep the amazing foods and experiences going once back in the States. This place does not disappoint! Food was incredible, sake selection divine and the vibe was excellent. It was nice feeling like we got into a secret dining spot and we cannot wait to go back!!! PS - get the Ishiyaki A5 Wagyu Beef! Better yet, get two!

I love the skewers and the kabocha dish. This place really felt like I was in Japan with the food that was served and the interior decoration. If you want an authentic Japanese place that serves skewers and sashimi, this place is for you.
In short they have an excellent sake list. Food wise, well where do we start... in short, nothing savory. Everything is edible and well presented, but chicken should not be THE primary source of this dinner. Some of the skewers were even cold.
We had the most wonderful omakase experience at Izakaya Ronin. It was a unique experience highlighting best of vegetables side dishes and yakitori, all paired with excellent sake recommendations.

Awesome food, great staff, loved the space! Had not idea this place was here. Been looking for a good yakitori place in LES for awhile, and here it is ;) I recommend the omakase where each skewer is brought out beautifully with a really nice mix of vegetables and various parts of chicken. The upgrade to the wagyu steak is pretty insane. I a sake lover, so I was in heaven here. Recommend!
A great Japanese Izakaya in New York City with a variety of Sake, appetizers, and sashimi. This is definitely one of my favorite Japanese restaurants, Dishes are beautifully plated, our knowledgeable server recommended the perfect sake for us. Will definitely come back!

I had a blast time! The food was great and the vibe was cozy.I tried Robata Yaki (Japanese BBQ) which was awesome.I have to go back to try their Hot Pot!

An amazing Izakaya experience! We had a private tatami seating which was very relaxing. The food was excellent & the servers were nice.
