I came here 4/27, had a female cashier who swiped my card multiple times while mumbling a question/comment she couldn't be bothered to repeat when asked, and found out the next day that my card was overcharged by almost $5. Considering my meal already totaled $21.72 after tax, this is a frustrating surprise. Is this how a Harlem staple conducts business?

I love this place.Went once in 2016 and recently in 2024. To this day it's the only place I've had fried chicken. Everything is done by weight so you'll pay less of you eat less. We got two really decent size meal and two soft drinks for 32 dollars. Good options for vegetables as well, which is not a given when traveling the US, I found.Vegetarian options: Brunch of salads and meatless sides.

I'm coming up on the Rough side of the mountain. Lol. I visited on a Sunday and all the church elders were there. Friendly staff. And the food is usually fresh. This time around I saw Latin people cooking the food. But it's a Soul food restaurant run by Africans and food cooked by Latin people. ?

Left NY 8 years ago, but everytime, I come back, I have to do here, I don't mind paying by weight, because if you had to pay by "food dish", it could be more.

Can't complain about the buffet style serving of food. The only problem is it gets so crowded but after getting the food it is7 worth it.. ?

Went around 5pm to Jacob’s and it wasn’t busy when I waked in but had steady customers. Folks at the register were nice. The place had some seats inside but I chose to sit outside (it’s seat yourself). Buffet looked clean and someone was constantly tending to it , which was good to see. Based on the reviews I got the oxtail, BBQ pork spare ribs, and jerk chicken. Looks like the rotate the menu so no Lima beans or southern style cabbage unfortunately, so got green beans, collards and some of the cabbage from the corn beef.Hits: The ribs were good. The BBQ sauce was just the right amount of sweet and the ribs were saucy. The green beans were also very good.Mid: The jerk chicken had some heat on it but wasn’t that great, but this isn’t a West Indian spot so I give it a pass. The cabbage was alright once I added some salt.Miss: I don’t know what y’all were talking about but it was the worst oxtail I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s a different chef but man they were not cooked long enough. Not super tender as it should be. It was actually really chewy. The sauce had like no flavor. The greens also left a lot to be desired. They were really bitter and lacked seasoning.Overall I’d give them a 3.5 if I could, I liked the concept and their variety of options but execution on the food was missing. But I support black owned businesses so I might give them another chance next time I’m in Harlem. Could have just been an off day.

I’ve been very impressed with the food here. Even though it’s buffet style, the meat is always extremely tender and hot. The jerk chicken is definitely the highlight, but many of the other dishes are worth it as well. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch or dinner at a reasonable
