I’m not sure why this place is closed. Their Hainan Chicken is the best I ever had. I brought my friends to this place, and they actually came back with their friends as well. Are they re-opening at other locations? It will be very sad to see a place like this gone…

Amazing favors from the Malay-Chinese tradition. Their vegetables, curries, laksa, redang, wok stir-fries, and nasi lemak are second to none. Give them a try and you will not regret it. Highly recommend. Good times!!!

Apparently this place is open after being close for a while for renovations. The food is typical Malaysian comfort food with the addition of standard American Chinese food.I ordered the Beef Rendang and was not disappointed.

Walking through Chinatown and stumbled on this place, ordered the beef rendang but wasn't made aware they were charging me for an entree item instead of the rendang combo. Make sure you ask the waitress/waiter to verify exactly what you're ordering or expect an upcharge. Overall a mediocre experience

I sought out this restaurant for Malaysian food and could not have been more disappointed. I ordered rendang, but the dish was all but unrecognizable. I believe the cook took sliced beef that was readied for a Chinese-style stir fry and simply sauteed it in a boxed curry that did not taste like rendang at all. I wish they simply told me they had none. I also ordered a dish of vegetables and asked for a half order, which I was given. But I was charged for a full order. When I asked why, they said that they could only charge the full price. This meager lunch was $40. Perhaps COVID has caused the restaurant to cut back. The dining room is especially dim. The Chinese food here might be far better, but I didn't try it. For Malay/Indonesian food, diners will likely be disappointed.

Ordered 2 orders of Penang Chow Kueh Teow for take out. They only gave me 1 container of hot sauce, therefore i asked for 3 more the man sitting at the cash register was not willing and said that’s a lots of sauce you need! ??? the sauce was the soul of this noodles and he think i am asking for too much sauce!!

So glad to see that Jaya is still here - even if it's now Jaya 888.如果可以的话,说普通话.Beef Rendang is, as always, excellent. The kuay teow is likewise.Make sure to order an eight-treasure shaved ice for dessert.

Delicious food and one of the best values for food. This is one of our go to places for take out.

Stopped in for lunch with the family after visiting the Statue of Liberty. We hadn't had Malaysian food since we were in Malaysia. So we decided to hit up Jaya. We were at Jaya maybe 5-8 years ago as well. The pros: The roti canai was good. Of course, a Malaysian restaurant that can't get roti canai right would be an abomination, so... Also, our water glasses were never empty, which was helpful since we were pretty hot and worn out. The cons: Other than the roti canai, the rest of the food was pretty meh. We ordered one green bean dish but received another, but we didn't really want to wait for the problem to be corrected. The beef dish we got was like garden variety, watered down Americanized Chinese food. Once we were done, we waited and waited and waited for the check. And, no, they weren't busy or short staffed. They were just hanging out talking to each other. And when they weren't doing that, they were out front smoking cigarettes. We got tired of waiting so I walked up to the front desk and asked for my check. They charged me for things I didn't order, and instead of just taking them off the bill, they argued with me. And then they had the nerve to add an automatic gratuity but they didn't mention it. It was a line item on the check and if I didn't examine the check, I wouldn't have noticed it. Also, the menu mentioned that the prices for some items had increased by $1 to $3 but we were hit with surcharges that went above that, in some cases. Finally, in this day and age, I want to see a restaurant that is clean. This restaurant is not. And the table was dirty and covered in a sticky film and the menus were gross and sticky, making a really good case for virtual menus. Won't be back. Especially not when there are such better options. Bleh.

Ordered the nasi lemak - came with literally one small piece of chicken in a table spoon of curry. Food tastes good but not worth the money

Terrible food. Prices are too high. They don't clean the shrimps. I had to throw away my order the vein was still visible! Disgusting! Will never go back!!!

Staff is friendly and followed safety protocols. Their food was so delicious! Portions were on the smaller side but prices weren’t too bad. All the spicy food had just the right amount of kick to it. Definitely have to come back. One thing that was disappointing was their Malaysian milk tea. No flavor and no taste.

Outstanding Asian cuisine just off canal street and little Italy section. I had the dumplings pan fried and they were outstanding.
