This place had the potential to be a great spot in NY, but the staff is rude and impatient. The waitresses make the bare minimum effort and only show up when it's time to charge. With so many options in NY, I suggest visiting another place because this one isn't worth it.
Joe Allen never disappoints. I've been going there for a few decades now and it is always incredible. The best burger in NYC! Great at.osphere on a two show Wednesday!
We always love coming to Joe Allen's for a post theatre bite. Friends were visiting from out of town and we wanted a place where we could talk and take time to catch up and this was perfect. Something on the menu for everyone! And it was so nice to be able to actually hear each other! LOL. Highly recommend!
An institution! Superlative service, great vibe, good food. No better pre or post theatre restaurant IMHO.
Patrick was a gracious server who equaled our enthusiasm to be there. We had many conversations with other staff members that were a whole lot of fun! We landed at Swing on 46 to end our lovely day with some incredible jazz music! Would love to return, thank you!
Patrick was a fabulous waiter and very accommodating with dietary requests. Will definitely recommend
Iconic NY restaurant with great ambiance. Service was excellent. Noise level was difficult for conversation. Calves Liver and sides were excellent. Burger and Fries was not anything special.
When I lived here in the 80's , Joe Allen's was a regular post theatre destination for me. It was great back then and still great 👍The staff was welcoming and our waiter , Devon, was Fantastic!! We're going again after our show tonight. Thanks Joe Allen !
Always a pleasure to dine at Joe Alle,. The staff is so friendly and the vibe is perfect for a pre-theatre meal.
Talk about a perfect location before Broadway show. This is it. The service was fantastic. The restaurant super nice and clean. My only issue is I ordered the dish with the eggs, and I specifically asked for all the whites to be cooked too when it was brought to the table, the whites were runny and gooey so I had to send it back. Then they brought it back and it was cooked so tough did not like the dish and decided also not to complain, but FYI, if wanting to order the egg dish.

Great atmosphere, the service was AMAZING. Shout out to Drew and team for taking care of us during dinner.
I had the chicken parmigiana that was so delicious! The best I've ever had! My husband's salmon was very good also!
I love coming here when we travel to NY. The servers are wonderfully charming hand the food always lives up to our expectations. We had steak tartare, Caesar salad and a hamburger with cheese and frites washed down with two martinis and a Cabernet. What could be better before seeing Caberet!
This is not the Joe Allen that I remember going to as a kid for pre and post theatre meals. The host was rude and dismissive. The server messed up our order and was appropriately apologetic about it and then delivered a raw hamburger. She was sweet and took that meal off the check but they assigned a new server and I would have liked the original server to receive the tip. The food was not good. It's sad but will never be back.
Always outstanding! The service, the food, the atmosphere—a great place for a first visit or your go to!
