this is my second time to Joe Allen. We were a party of 5. We were seated right away. 2 of us got the hamburger and loved it ! I got the Cobb Salad with Salmon Yum ! My husband had a french sandwich that he said was excellent. We had a lovely lunch. My Cousin Ann goes there often and lives in the neighborhood. Thats how we found this gem ! Thank you it was the best meal we had in the 48 hours that we were in NYC
Lovely dinner! Our server, Bob, is charming and funny. The best part of all?: The food is served very hot—nothing lukewarm here, but meatloaf and chicken right out of the oven. Nothing better on a frigid evening! Thanks!
Celebrated daughter's birthday and staff made it special :) Food excellent and y'all make great mixed drinks.
Always love coming back to Joe Allen! Like coming home. Thanks for so many wonderful memories!
Joe Allen never disappoints. Always top of the list when in town. From the our fabulous host to the service to the wonderfully prepared food. Put Joe Allen on your “must visit” list ❤️
It's overpriced but you're paying for the fact that it's an old, venerated place where you are likely to see a few celebrities. I wish the menu was a bit more extensive and/or they had specials. Also the red wines are pretty average. More choice would be preferable. They make a great cocktail, however, and the waiters are lovely.
We went to Joe Allen after a Broadway show. I have walked by Joe Allen multiple times and just never stopped in - it is very unassuming from the street. But when you get in there - it is a very cozy restaurant and bar with a varied menu. We just had dessert - which was fabulous. HIGHLY recommend the Banana Cream Pie and the Hot Fudge Pudding Cake. Delicious. Be sure to check out all of the show posters in there - you probably won't recognize most of them...and that is the point! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone - but especially theater fans.
Loved Sarah and Bob! We will be back! The food was great and the service was amazing. Big City eats with a small town / family vibe!
Not crowded so we could have been seated in a better location but overall the experience was fantastic. Very old school NYC vibe. Food was excellent and service was top notch. The atmosphere is so great and close to Broadway. We will be back.
Fabulous! Excellent ambiance, customer support top notch and food delicious! Would return time and time again!

Great after theater dinner spot. Bob, our server, was terrific - very friendly and welcoming! Our dinner was terrific. The place filled up (with other after-show diners) so make a reservation just to be sure. Definitely recommend.
This was our first visit to Joe Allen but it wont be our last. The burger and cocktails were delicious! And the service was perfect — relaxed but attentive at the same time. Looking forward to trying the other dishes.
Perfect location for Theater District - nice to see a classic NYC institution still standing!
Great pre-theatre spot. Cozy, inviting vibes with solid comfort food that really hits the mark. Portions are generous without being overdone, and the staff is genuinely friendly and attentive. An easy, reliable choice when you want a relaxed meal before a show
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Joe Allen's after attending The Book of Mormon. The food was delicious, comforting and exactly what we were hoping for, and the neighborhood atmosphere made the experience even better. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great comfort food and a welcoming, relaxed vibe. On an added note, I accidentally dropped my leather gloves on the floor during our visit. I called the following day, and the business office was incredibly kind and helpful- they found my gloves and are mailing them back to me. The service truly went above and beyond.
