Great experience. The staff are super seasoned and know how to do their jobs incredibly well. Terrific pre-theatre spot! Excellent food.
The food was so disappointing. Burnt fries and a burger that was really basic. We would have had better at Shake Shack. The waiter asked if everything was ok with our meal. I politely said that it wasn't ..showed them burnt fries etc. In a good restaurant, they would offer to replace the fries at the very least but not here. Do yourself a favour and dine elsewhere.
I always dine at Joe Allen's when I come to NYC. The host is always accommodating, the atmosphere jovial and food is very good!
Catching up with an old friend. Food and service was amazing. They didn't rush us to get up would definitely come again.
Opentable indicated the restaurant as fully booked until 9:30 but when got there they said not true as Sunday is a slow night. Why does Opentable give wrong information?
I love Joe Allen! Great vibe before a show and the service was fantastic. The food was disappointing, don't mind spending the money for amazing food but it just wasn't that this time!
Joe Allen is an Icon — I've never been before and won't go again. In my book it's a one and done. Food average and kind of disappointment. Staff was amazing.
Wonderful greet service yummy food. The duck was outstanding . Great waiter everyone so friendly
Having been a customer of Joe Allen's for almost 40 tears I can truthfully say that it has always been one of the best restaurants in all of NYC! Not because it has the best of anything that you're looking for in a restaurant individually, but because all of the ingredients that make up Joe Allen will give a PERFECT evening every time you go! I love Joe Allen and always will!!
The best theater district restaurant by very far and one of the greatest places in NYC. Wonderful food and service in a warm and spacious atmosphere. A real real New York place. I will never stop going to Joe Allen and loving it. The best of what NYC has to offer!

Our second visit to Joe Allen wasn't quite as enjoyable as our first. The meatloaf I ordered showed up looking like it had just come out of the microwave. It tasted OK, but honestly I've had better at my local diner. Plus, the wait staff made us feel just a tad rushed. We arrived at 4:15 pm on a Saturday so maybe they wanted to clear our table for the dinner rush, but the atmosphere just wasn't as relaxed as it was for our later visit last time. We did enjoy the vibe of the restaurant, and our food/drinks did arrive precisely as ordered. It was just a bit of a disappointment this time.
Really nice place, great welcome and really good food. However our first waitress was excellent but she left soon after we arrived and another lady took over. Her people skills and communication was pretty much non existent. Everything she seemed to do took forever, she forgot a coffee we had ordered and I the end we paid at front of house as we were fed up waiting. It put a slight dampener on the evening, it was probably an isolated incident but nonetheless disappointing. However don't let this put you off as the place is otherwise really good.
A restaurant full of joyful atmosphere, with several posters containing historical features. It is said to be a place to eat before watching Broadway. There have been posters for musicals that only performed once and then were discontinued. It's on the wall of the restaurant.

Easily the best Cesar salad I have ever had. Great atmosphere with lots of old Broadway memorabilia. Fairly eclectic menu.

I was in NYC to see "Wicked". A friend recommended this restaurant for lunch before the show. I'm so glad she did! The classic atmosphere serves as a cool and cozy backdrop for their delicious food and excellent service. From the time you walk in and are greeted warmly by the host, you are in for an awesome dining experience! A very special shout-out to Devon who was attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming! He was super ~ an actor moonlighting as a shining example of what a server could and should be. Thanks so much Devon!
