We were a party of 5 on a busy Thursday night. We were still sitting down at our table when our waiter impatiently demanded an order. He came back one more time to take our main course order, was rude and unhelpful, and never returned until we had cash on the table. We never received rice we had ordered, so our main dishes didn’t fill us up. We never received one of the drinks we ordered. Luckily we were seated next to a service station…we had to get up and refill our own waters and to get extra napkins. Icing on the cake was the 18% gratuity he added on for himself. I would never go back to this restaurant. The food was adequate but not incredible, and served luke warm, which added insult to injury. We felt ripped off.

I don't even want to give 1 star...it was that bad
The crab and pork dumplings were smelling soo bad that I could not even finish 1......I haven been to soo many Chinese restaurants but this is the first time I can't even take a second bite....even the pancakes were soo avg....this restaurant was on my list for soo many days only to get disappointed with such a popular restaurant

Service was awful here. We were ignored the whole meal and couldn’t get a check even though place was only one quarter filled. I can see why no one goes here anymore. Plenty of other places to get good soup dumplings now.

My friend told us she’s been coming to Joes, at their old location, since she was a kid. She brought us here to eat their xiaoliangbao- we tried the pork and the crab. Very yummy broth, we liked the one with just pork the best.

The restaurant is very clean and modern.

Very delicious.

Dietary restrictions: My wife has a peanut allergy and she was able to eat the xiaoliangbao

There was a half-hour wait on Saturday afternoon. I took a ticket and went for a walk in the area. When we returned, we entered a very nicely decorated place. The food was reasonable. I've eaten much better Chinese food in other places, and the place was packed. I don't understand why. I won't be back. There are better and cheaper places.

Cash Only - Found this great spot for lunch while walking around Chinatown. Fast service and good food. Recommend the pork soup dumplings and orange beef. The place is cash only, and they have an ATM at the front if you need to get cash out. Overall, a solid find! Pictured: soup dumplings, fried rice, garlic eggplant, sesame chicken.

Food was not good. It lacked flavor. Portions were big but no taste. Staff gave a good service though but i would not recommend this place because of the food quality.

Cash only, wide selection of Chinese food. Not everything was a huge hit for us though. Soup dumplings were pretty good (8/10). The “pork pancakes” were like a pork dish with a tortilla, so not that good lol. The crispy beef was decent (7/10). Beans were good.

I just wasn’t too impressed, especially for the wait and price (~35 pp)

The famous Joe's Shanghai. The OG soup dumplings spot, at least from what I remember. This Chinatown location is pretty large and modern compared to the old location a few blocks away. The soup dumplings still hits the spot, and they have a bunch of other classic family style dishes that will also. My go-to favorites are Kung Pao Chicken, String beans with minced pork, Mapo Tofu, and Shanghai Fried Flat Noodles. Don't forget the scallion pancakes and dip it in the soy sauce that's provided. Service is acceptable, and dishes come out quick. It's always a solid time here.

Parking will always be tough in Chinatown but there's a parking garage a few feet away.

I was looking forward to a nice meal, but the experience was ruined by pushy service and an outright demand for a tip. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed uninterested and slow, barely checking on us and acting like we were an inconvenience.

But the worst part? When the bill came, I tipped 20% on the pre-tax and then she demanded a higher tip. Excuse me? A tip is for good service, not an automatic tax.

If you enjoy being guilt-tripped into tipping for subpar service, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.

Dumplings also smelled of ammonia.

Fantastic General Tso’s chicken, super crispy outside with thin breading tender and moist inside.

I understand why people enjoy this restaurant, but I personally found the food to be a bit lacking in flavor. Try it for yourself :)

The soups are excellent and very hearty.
The crispy shredded beef is also very good and plentiful. Fast service, reasonable price (soup €10/15 and dishes around €25).

Great soup dumplings. Nice little spot to go at the end of a day in the city. Food is served family style. With decent portions for the price. Prices are a little high in my own opinion. The quality of the food makes it worth every penny. It is cash only, so unless you feel like paying the service fee at the atm I recommend bringing what you feel you'd need.

Not recommended restaurant, the waitress at reception told us there would be a 30 minute wait and ended up waiting 1 hour 20 minutes!
Which is unacceptable for a simple Chinese restaurant.
We ordered dumplings which were super good but the rest of the order was not good at all.
We had chicken fried rice and crispy beef which was horrible.
The customers were also really not very pleasant, there was a lot of noise and disturbed customers (it's not their faults).
We won't come back, move on, you'll find better elsewhere!
