Fast casual Vietnamese. I think the caramel pork rice bowl is good- sweet (I can see it being too sweet for some) and savory and good portion/ratio of meat. The spring rolls are really long and crisp! (I have only delivery so I cannot comment on the atmosphere).

William was a lifesaver! I had a frustrating issue with an Uber Eats order that Uber support completely failed to resolve. William stepped in, took the time to understand the situation, and actually got it fixed. He was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about helping—something that’s hard to come by these days. If you ever need someone who’s willing to go the extra mile, William is your guy. Thank you again!

This was my first time visiting this spot in person — I used to just get their food delivered when I lived nearby. The place was pretty busy, with lots of people waiting to pick up their orders, which says something about how popular it is!

We ordered ahead on their website for pickup, and everything was ready right when we arrived, which was super convenient. I went with the Lemongrass Chicken Bánh Mì, Crunchy Monster Spring Rolls, and Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

The bánh mì was tasty — especially the lemongrass chicken, which had great flavor. But honestly, the bread was a bit disappointing; it didn’t really live up to what I expect from a good bánh mì sandwich. The spring rolls were nice and crisp, but I felt like there wasn’t enough filling for something called “Crunchy Monster” — they were pretty long and skinny, not as hearty as I hoped.

As for the Vietnamese iced coffee, it wasn’t really my favorite, maybe a bit too strong or just not quite the flavor I was expecting.

All in all, it’s a decent place if you want a quick, flavorful bite. But if you’re really after a killer bánh mì, I think there are better spots out there. Still, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby and want something fast and fresh!

The ingredients on my banh mi sandwich seemed fresh enough, but the bread is so awful it should be outlawed! The best part of a banh mi sandwich is the baguette: crisp and light from the addition of rice flour. This stale hoagie roll had no lightness, no crunch: it was heavy and just so wrong for this type of sandwich. In addition, their boba (tapioca pearls) were soft and soggy, either overcooked or old. So disappointing - would not return. Get on the 6 train and go down to Banh Mi Saigon on Elizabeth Street if you want to experience how delicious this sandwich can be.

Joju is quite popular. I've been to their original location in Elmhurst, and now I'm happy they've opened one closer to work. I usually go for the beef bulgogi bowl, which is really tasty, though the beef can be hit or miss--it's sometimes dry, but always well-marinated, no doubt about that. I love that they have the brown rice option. You can't go wrong with the Thai iced tea or Vietnamese iced coffee either--they're perfectly balanced, not too sweet. The monster spring roll is also a solid choice--crispy.

May 2025 update: they’re supposed to close at 5 but apparently have already stopped serving food at 4:40. So I rushed out of work to pick up food for nothing. Maybe update your business hours.

Original review:
This is a great, reasonably priced lunch spot. The food and delicious and filling; but know that it isn't really a sit-down place. There are a few tables where you can park it and eat your food; but the space is more for utility than aesthetics. Whether a bowl or sandwich, the food is good; but I'd recommend getting the bowls, if you want a bit more food (and maybe have a few bites for later!).

Pretty fast and casual lunch spot. I got the seitan bites bahn mi and the JoJu fries. Everything was really good. I really liked the fries although it was too much food for just me.

They executed a large order for 20 people flawlessly. Everything was labeled, ready on time and tasted great.
