This dining experience at Joo Ok made our trip to New York extra special🫶 Your excitement starts with you making the reservation. The unique elevator literally elevates the excitement. The food, can’t say another word, just perfect. And it doesn’t stop until you get home since you get a little bag of their special tea at the end. The staff were spectacular. The Empire State Building was right by the window glowing making the dinner very memorable. Highly recommended!

The same week in May that I went to Joo Ok, I also went to a legendary three star place in New York. Whereas the three star place seemed boring and complacent in its food (and exorbitantly overpriced), Joo Ok was full of bold, creative flavors and at a fair price.
The only part that I did not quite enjoy was the dessert. The traditional Korean sweets were too sticky for my taste.

I had a fabulous dinner at Joo Ok last night. My chef friend chose this restaurant and he said he admired Chef Shin Chang-ho and the kitchen team.
We had a 7-beverage pairing along with the tasting menu. Ryan Lee, the Sommelier, was very knowledgeable about the drinks we were enjoying, and the diverse range from traditional Korean Chungjoo (경주법주) to white wine from Austria to wines from France and Italy were great.
The food was impeccable. We enjoyed every bite, and the perfect seasoning and presentation. You will be happy while you are at the table like we were.
Their plates, professionalism of the staff and ambiance made our dining such a memorable experience!

Go here for a feast for the eyes and a finely tuned elegant atmosphere. For the food alone you can find better fine dining within 6 blocks.

From the unique elevator experience to the multiple dessert offerings, everything was organized perfectly, and I believe this was the best culinary experience I had in Manhattan. I highly recommend visiting this place before it gets harder to get a seat. I somehow miss the welcome drink the most, but everything, especially the three appetizers were exceptional. Will visit again to celebrate something! P.S. Service was also top notch.

Executed rather perfectly. Smaller dishes but didn't leave wanting more, the details from the choices of the dishes to the depth of taste were perfect. A rather memorable meal, well worthy of the star, and probably deserving of additional ones.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. I can't wait to return. The serving staff took the time to explain each dish, which added a nice touch to the meal. However, I did notice that they tended to speak over the food while describing it, so it might be a good idea to be cautious about that. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Enjoyed beautiful dishes and hospitality! I wish Joo Ok is at a place where embraces nature like their dishes. It was not very pleasant to ride on the elevator smelled like garbage…the elevator conductor was super pleasant tho. 😊
