The taste is very good. The pork chop is firm and fresh. The skin is fried perfectly! The service is also good. I will come again in the future. It is delicious.

The pork cutlet was crispy as expected, but it had too much fat and was too tough. I used to visit this place often, but the amount of fat in the meat was inconsistent, making it difficult to eat. Considering the quality, I felt the price was too high. I prefer to spend my money on more worthwhile food. I wouldn't recommend this place.

decent place to catch up with coworkers and have delicious katsu along with some sapparo on draft. I got the katsu don and it was juicy and savory and my colleague had the katsu curry, overall it was a hit and got very busy. starting around 6:00 on a Monday, would highly recommend before I catch up between friends and a quick bite instead of just drinking yourself down

If you’re craving the perfect pork katsu in New York City, Katsu Hama is the place to go. Famous for their Berkshire pork katsu, this spot delivers an incredible dining experience that feels both comforting and indulgent.

I tried the miso katsu, and it was nothing short of amazing. The pork was perfectly crispy on the outside yet incredibly tender and juicy on the inside, coated with a rich and flavorful miso sauce that added just the right amount of umami. Every bite had that satisfying crunch followed by melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

The meal comes as a set with soup, salad, and rice, making it a well-rounded and fulfilling experience. The portions were just right generous enough to leave you satisfied but not overly heavy, allowing you to fully enjoy every component of the meal without feeling overwhelmed. The miso soup was warm and comforting, the salad was fresh and crisp, and the rice was the perfect complement to the katsu. Everything was well-balanced, allowing the quality of the pork to shine.

Katsu Hama doesn’t just serve great food it perfects a classic dish with premium ingredients, expert execution, and thoughtfully portioned meals. Whether you’re a longtime katsu fan or trying it for the first time, this is a spot that will leave you completely satisfied and eager to return.

Ordered the half and half curry lunch special. The chicken was much softer than the pork loin, which was tough and difficult to chew. The curry itself was just okay. They provided an excessive portion of rice that I couldn't finish. For the price, I'd prefer better quality meat rather than giant portions of rice and mediocre curry.

Good times all around! Japanese comfort food always hits the spot, but it's easy to over order.

The wait time can be a bit long depending on what time you show up. Three friends and I showed up around 7pm on a Thursday night and waited for about 20 minutes to get seated. Katsu-Hama is very popular so just keep that in mind.

If it's your first time here then definitely order the Berkshire Pork. Very filling. We also ordered some beer and sake 🍶

Friendly and attentive service!

This place is great. 6’3 dude not many places here can actually make me full without breaking the bank. Get the pork loin curry b set. That shit slaps every time no question no damn I’m still hungry no nothing, just good katsu food coma. For 23$ too! Crazy. Only gripe I have is that there’s no reservations and waiting in line here is really painful, in typical Manhattan fashion you’re awkwardly waiting in the doorway for twenty minutes as a billion doordashers whizz past you. I’d avoid going on Friday Saturday night if I can, especially larger parties. Or go earlier cause this place closes pretty early.

Maybe the best katsu shop in town that does not break a bank 😅. Deliciously "light" fried meat is excellent. Not sure how "fried" and "light" can be in the same sentence but it's true🤣. The pork is excellent. Curry, sushi and rolls, and ramen are also great. Combo let's u sample everything 👍. Reservation definitely helps and visit often 🤩. And their take out looks like a bento box with excellent design and style. Very nicely done and one of the best designs for take out containers 👍

The chicken with curry dish was good. Came with miso soup and cabbage salad that paired well. It felt like authentic Japanese presentation of the food dishes. They played music that seemed to be Bollywood mashups with American pop songs with was interesting but definitely made it an interesting vibe lol.

Vegetarian options: Little to no good options for vegetarians. Definitely not vegetarian friendly.

Katsu was amazing! So crunchy and perfectly seasoned. Okonomiyaki was okay. I felt like sitting tables were way too close together.
