I went here for the first time tonight as it's Carnevale and I really wanted a steak before my Lenten fast. This place was great! Relaxed, nice surroundings and great steak *and* a great value for NYC. I don't understand the few negative reviews about the staff. Every single person working here was friendly and accommodating. And my waiter went above & beyond--he was the best. Unfortunately, I was alone, but will definitely be back with friends to share a soufflé and some appetizers!

I love this place! I have been dining here since my NYU undergraduate days in the early '90s. I never get tired of their T-bone for two, expertly cooked all the time. You're in good hands with the staff.

Village classic. Great bar scene (thank you Fiona, Norma and Hazel). John at front of house is terrific and a gent. Food eclectic and always good. Live music. The crowd is young and old, with the occasional celebrity hiding in a booth. Highly recommend.

We had a great meal with courteous service. Very relaxed setting with fanciful art adorning the walls. Very upbeat experience.
Shrimp cocktail: 3/5
Served in a martini glass with a layer of sauce at the bottom and blue tortilla chips on the plate. Shrimp were fresh and tender; cocktail sauce was tangy with a hint of fruitiness. Paired with a dirty martini (gin = Hendrick’s), which fit the vibe perfectly.
We booked an 8:45 reservation to catch the jazz duo and were happy to be seated near the piano.
Also ordered: T-bone for one with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, spaghetti, chocolate chip cookie for two with ice cream, and bottle of Tuscan wine.
Tables are well spaced and comfortable.
Excellent food and service overall!

I have eaten at the Knickerbocker many times. Especially good is the steak, hamburgers, chicken dishes.
I've been going here since I was a kid. Always a good meal with friendly service and great food!
One of our favorite restaurants for family dinner. The service is good, the menu is varied and the bread basket is appreciated. Don't sleep on the bleu cheese truffle fries.
Hadn't been back since 1999. The place was still cozy, the food spot on and the service was great. And the prices aren't bad at all. I'll be coming back.
After eating here for over 20 years, Knickerbocker never disappoints. Food is excellent with generous portions.

A great way to spend New Year's Eve - at one of our favorite restaurants.Enjoyed a special menu of delicious food options, wonderful and cordial service and a musical trio to help us and fellow diners celebrate. Been here several years -always a fun time.
A new year's eve tradition that we've maintained since 2017 except when they were closed during the pandemic. Never been disappointed, always 5 stars from the wines to the apps and of course the steaks to the souffle. I hope it will be always be around for many many years.
I had a great experience with my friends that are visiting in town! Very pricey, but definitely worth it in my opinion.

Such a professional waiter and fine service. Perfect venue both NYC and neighborhood vibe,
The staff were gracious, patient and very helpful- even though one of my party wax 40 minutes late - my other friend and I chatted - and I had an extra glass of wine to pass the time. The dinner was delicious and everyone was pleased.
