Fried vege, either frozen the inside, or over cooked make the seaweed harder. Chicken soup w a smell, feel not that fresh.
The scotch egg was pretty underwhelming. Inside it’s some kind of meat patty, fried, with boiled egg in it. It’s sizable and filling, but it’s bland without the sauce which was a spicy mayo. It looks creative, but tastes ordinary.
K’OOK is a super affordable korean restaurant in the St Marks neighborhood.I recommend getting their fried chicken + drink combo for $25. The chicken was extremely crispy, flavorful, and the meat was juicy.I was super excited about the scotch egg but it was pretty bland without the sauce.
Very cozy restaurant with delicious and fairly priced food. The crispy rice egg is amazing and a must get appetizer. I also got the dol sot w/chicken which came in a hot stone bowl. It was very filling and a perfect meal for a cold day. Excited to come back and try other dishes like the cold noodles.
The most affordable authentic Korean place! As a Korean it was such a nice experience for me because every time i tried Korean places it was so expensive!I’m sure all the Koreans will agree with me. But this place is really affordable and clean and nice! They have plenty of seats and food is delicious and authentic too! Me and my husband ordered bibimbap and sodas. It was really delicious and side dishes were tasty too! I really recommend if you want affordable Korean spot. ??????
It's very similar to Korean restaurants in South Korea, while having a few unexpected differences. Appetizers are as large as main dishes. Dolsot was less spicy and sweeter than usual Korean dolsot. Fried chicken is very high quality, and kimbap is also great. The food was too much for two people, so I brought it home. I had it tomorrow lunch and still delicious. Dolsot and japchae are particularly good for microwaves.
Humble, down-to-earth and unassuming eatery with some typical and traditional Korean dishes. Both kimchi jigae and bibimbap were delicious. The scotch egg was innovative and filling too. Especially with the current inflation, the price they charged for the quality food is unbeatable. By the way, those quotes on the wall really cracked me out!
Food was pretty good and service was great. The Korean scotch egg was interesting but needed some sauce. Thankfully we ordered the ddukboki and that sauce worked very well for it.Their LA galbi tasted amazing but there wasn’t much of it.Their spicy cold noodles were amazing and I highly recommend. The arrowroot noodles were extremely bouncy and chewy, and the cold, iced broth was delicious. One star off because they aren’t doing the Combo Special listed on their website (1 Korean bbq + cold noodles).
Best happy hour I’ve found in the city. 12-8 everyday, $25 for a wings or ribs and a bottle of soju or a pitcher of beer. I mean come on… that’s insane.Food’s good, drinks are good.I strongly recommend it for a quick bite. The rest of the menu looks good too.
Soy spicy fried chicken was really good. The tasting flight of fruit sojus was a great start to explore different flavors. tteokbokki was okay.Overall the restaurant was really inviting and warm, the service was great and quick as well. Will definitely come again. Thank you!

I forgot to take a photo of the cold noodle dish (neng myun) because I devoured it in seconds.. I don’t usually write reviews but will need to for this spot! The food here reminded me of Korea - very authentic, tastes amazing. The kimbab was the best I’ve had and the cold noodle (neng myun) is what it’s known for - hands down THE best. Definitely coming back!
The korean bbq chicken was very good! Fair prices
Came on a Saturday night at 8pm. It was crowded but we had a reservation so we were seated without a wait. I’d definitely recommend a reservation, but they seemed to accept walk in groups with a small wait.Delicious food, slow service. Absolutely loved my experience here, but we spent about half an hour after our meal was over trying to get the servers attention for the bill. We weren’t in a rush and had a good time talking, so it wasn’t a major issue, but something to note. The food was so delicious, and will happily come again. For appetizers, we ordered a Crispy Rice Egg, Corn Corny Corn, and Hot Wings. Highly recommend the Crispy Rice Egg, but the other apps were good as well. For dinner, we ordered fried rice, DolSot, GalBiTang, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. The bulgogi was amazing, but the GalBiTang was very one note, basically bone broth with noodles. Still tasted good but disappointing as a main course.Another strange note, has nothing to do with the food. The ceilings are quite low so if you’re tall you’ll have to duck. The restrooms are on a lower level, and there are a few stairs to get into the restaurant. It is not wheelchair accessible. We sat inside so I’m not sure what the accessibility of the outdoor dining is like.
Nice Korean restaurant in East Village. Would recommend trying the crispy rice egg and dolsot (bibimbap). The latter is served with gochujang sauce on the side so you can control the spiciness. The restaurant wasn't full when we went on a Friday night before 7pm, but it would still be a good idea to reserve seats.
I ordered shrimp fried rice. It came in with super small shrimp and rice not blending well with other stuffs in the dish! Moreover, the veggies used were actually from frozen veggie pack! You see, they simply cook the veggies with "weird shrimp" and then add to the cook rice! It wasn't a "Fried" dish! And I was waiting for a long time for this "fake" fried rice! Stay far away from it!
