Years ago when I was a child, my mother took me to La Fonda Del Sol at Rockefeller Center. I have wonderful memories however this experience was Far different. A Spanish restaurant that serves tapas should be much better than what we experienced. One of my favorites, dates wrapped in bacon seemed as if they had been pre-cooked and sitting around waiting for someone to order them. While the waitstaff did replace with a fresher order, it wasnt much better. Our shrimp in garlic sauce...
Last time we dined here, about 2 weeks prior on Valentine's Day, the food was lukewarm and the plate cold. This time,our food came out hot and the presentation was nice. We recommend their octopus and croquettes as starters. Their salmon and chilean bass for entrees was delicious Service, however, was inconsistent. Our wait person, albeit friendly, was slow in bringing our drinks. When one of my guests asked for a second drink, it took two follow up requests to have it brought...
Valentine's Day dinner was delicious, we appreciated the fact you could bring your own wine bottle with no corkage fee. The meal was well prepared and tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our only complaint is that we were offered ice and bottled water both still or sparkling , but were not told that this was an extra cost. We did not mind paying the extra amount we just thought it should have been stated by our server.
