WOW just WOW! I randomly stumbled upon this place when walking on the UES, and it's really your typical French bistro. Great ambiance (perfect for a Sunday family lunch or even a date night!). Everything was delicious and the service was PERFECT! Potato Leek Soup ~~ DELICIOUS! Thick and creamy consistency with crispy potatoes. Loved it. French Onion Soup ~~ Exactly as you can expect. Absolutely delicious. Cheesy. Oniony. Wow. Steak au Poivre ~~ The sauce was perfectly peppery and perfectly thick. The steak itself was not as tender as I would have liked it to be, but overall, the dish was great. Tarte Tatin ~~ This dessert was great. Not my fave, but a table favorite. Mousse au Chocolat ~~ This was my absolute FAVE! It was a milk chocolate mousse which is not the usual. WOW. Loved this. Wish I could eat this every single day. I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be coming back for more!!

Classic French Bistro - nice atmosphere and very attentive service. Roast Chicken with mushrooms was excellent as well as Lobster Cobb Salad. Profiteroles were fantastic. Some of the items seem very expensive like a Tito's vodka is now $22 and deserts and salads are pricey. Shows you how expensive NY makes it to operate a nice restaurant. Overall a very nice French Bistro.

Excellent service and delicious traditional French cuisine. It gives the feeling of being in Paris. The onion soup is the best in New York. The steak au poivre is tender and the sauce…ask for extra bread. The wine selection is very well put together and offers many different options for different occasions. In short, my wife and I will come back soon.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access on the ground floor.

We recently dinned at La Goulue s supper club...it was the most amazing experience, the food was beyond excellent. The short rib sooo succulent. The dancing and the music... was SOOO much fun.. I would absolutely recommend and I will be back! I give it a 10 out of 10 on every level. Special thanks to the staff and amazingly talented Chef Antoine!

See....I love this place for the ambience alone. But last night's meal was disappointing. Overcooked fish which quite frankly is the worst way to eat anything and the service - very rushed and impersonal. I've been before - last Christmas on a beautiful late December day and had the complete opposite experience. Perfectly cooked fish and my husband raved about his steak frites. The service was attentive and oh so friendly. So I'm going to give La Goulue another try but maybe not on a busy Friday night. The cook staff just doesn't seem talented enough to keep up.

I have been to this establishment a few times. Food, staff, ambience is outstanding. Was there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The appetizers and desserts were amazing. Three of us ordered the duck l'orange. I have had this dish in several other french restaurants, including Paris. The duck was disappointing. The portion was way to small, the duck was tough and more like steak than duck. The peppercorns detracted from the overall taste of the dish. I did NOT say anything to the waitstaff because two others in the party seemed to be enjoying it. After dinner, I found out they had the same thoughts as I did.I mentioned it to the server who told me had I told her right away, she would have brought me something else. This was MY FAULT - not theirs. At dessert time, they brought a fruit tart which we did not order, but was their way of doing something to make me happy. As I love fruit tarts, I was in heaven. I would go back in a heart beat, but just would not order the duck!

We’ve eaten here several times. The atmosphere is a warm French bistro, the food is very good, the service is lacking (our food came out and we had to clear our own plates from the previous course), but the staff is friendly at least, and the wine is uninspired and overpriced.

I left my wallet on the table and it was stolen. Beyond disappointing a staff person would steal it and use my credit card and who knows what else. The manager was helpful at first but later defiant his employees would be less than honest.

Divine!! Unfortunately, got there too late to have the soufflé for lunch. Got to get in early. Highly recommend the salmon dish.

Everything is great in this restaurant, the food is amazingly tasty and each client is treated as a VIP. It tends to get crowded in the evening, so it is better to come around 5.30pm if you have dinner (or make a reservation).
