A palapa is an open hut with a palm-thatched roof. I assume the place is named for that because it is the only house you would be able to afford after purchasing food from this place. The tacos are delicious with different spice rubs and marinades for each meat, and double wrapped in traditional tortillas. But 5-6 dollars plus tax per taco is pushing it even for Manhattan.
They said nothing when I picked up my order. Just placed it in my hand. They weren't busy at all. The breakfast burrito was good, not great. 8% egg. A breakfast burrito should have at least 20% egg. It was tasty, service was non-existent, egg was lacking, tomato was watery. Decent not great.
Service was slow even though I pre-ordered by breakfast burrito 5 minutes before arriving and then had to wait 15 additional with no one else ordering or waiting for food. Burrito was good though, but not sure I would order again. Might have to pre-order 20 minutes in advance to accommodate for the slow service.
