Great food. & drink. Vegan options. Reasonable prices. We come for the Wednesday night music & are never disappointed. We love our waiter. And the manager, Judy is wonderful. It's a true NYC moment.
They made me wait an extra 20 minutes in advance of my reservation which was my main irk, but $5 margs on a Tuesday is a vibe and a half. get a lil turnt while having a few different types of margs from your hibiscus to your jalapeño. Very much college goer vibe so keep in mind because that's the crowd you'll see late night. Their tacos and food is honestly decent as so get your stuffy hands on it you filthy animal
My family was at the Intrepid museum and found this location a short walk away. The food was SO good. I don't live near by but will look for an opportunity to come back and recommend to others. If you like tacos you will LOVE La Palapa.
One more thing, they are located inside Gotham West Market which is a little food court type place so there will be something for everyone in your group.

First the food was disappointing, not bad but not good just serviceable. Service was slow although friendly enough. Nothing stood out as either great or bad. The noise level was very high but there was a huge party of probably 12-14 people that was bringing the noise level way up. That said the space is clearly loud but we were able to talk over the table and mostly were able to have a clear conversation. We came as this is a woman chef owned restaurant and for that I am happy to support it. The energy in the place was festive. I would no go out of my way for this restaurant.
Without a doubt some of the best Mexican around. Plenty of veggie options. The Veggie tacos are very filling and full of flavor. Frozen hibiscus Margarita is a must.
Guacamole is top notch.

Reliably excellent. Loved the choices of margaritas, all delicious. Food was top notch, with friendly, attentive service to boot. Since opening, La Palapa has provided a consistent and dependable culinary experience which keeps us coming back. Thanks for the memories.
I thought the food was absolutely delicious. Cool and clean atmosphere... Not too chaotic like a busy spot .. I recommend

The food was delicious! We got the corn on the cob app (they took it off the cob so we could share!). Then the steak tacos and steak enchiladas and both were great!! Super delicious and nothing was over powering anything else. There was live music from local east village artists which we did not know about but it was fun! (Happens there every Wednesday night, no cover!) Margs are a must! Frozen and on the rocks were great!
Awesome delicious tacos!

Stopped in at La Palapa for lunch, and had a most wonderful experience. The romaine salad with beets and cranberries was fresh and delicious. The burrito with vegan barbacoa was amazing. And the chocolate brownie with ice cream was heavenly. My server Vee was an absolute star, and made certain that my meal was perfect. It's no wonder that it has lasted this long.
Please consider switching to non plastic takeout containers. You can also offer DeliverZero containers.

Yuk overly salted shrimp taco to cover seafood gone bad. Fish was also gross dry hard cardboard. Very overpriced for bad food.
