The food and drinks were great, however 40minutes into my dinner reservation I was told people were waiting for my table. While I was dining solo and understand wanting to seat larger parties, I did have a reservation and would have thought that entitled me to the full table time limit (they confirmed it was an hour and a half) I had planned on ordering more food/drinks but left instead.
The food and drinks were ok. The meat felt a little dry in almost every taco. But the service was amazing.
So much to want to love, but nothing was outstanding except the guacamole, rice and beans. The chicken, brisket and marinated steak soft tacos were dried out, and tamales dried out. Lots of margaritas bargain basement variety - tasted extremely artificial and like a chemicals, and tasted somewhat carbonated. I requested gold tequila and guest what? They had none. The noise level was the unbearable - everyone screaming. We're not old people, so we're not stuffy, but really! We all were hoarse when we left. I can't imagine Anna Navarro endorsing this place unless she has family or close friends working there. There are no recent reviews on Yelp or Tripadvisor. There are better Mexican restaurants in NYC.
La palapa is the best (kind of) kept secret in the east village. Tuesday is always a great vibe with amazing happy hour on frozen margs and great food.
It was so lovely to celebrate with my friends my senior year. The waiter was so so lovely and I loved the 6 dollar margs they were such a good deal. Also the food was amazing and so filling. 10/01 recommend!!
I dined at La Palapa for my birthday and had the absolute best time. The service was phenomenal, the food and drinks were perfect, everything was above expectations! All of my guests were obsessed with this find and will all be back.
One of my favorite brunch spots to go to. The staff are always kind, the food and drinks are amazing!
As a connoisseur of a great mole--their version is as good and authentic as the mole that i've had in actual Mexico. Like legitimately.
Service was ok. Queso was good. Shrimp tacos were awful. Nice low key place for a large party.
I'm afraid I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was mediocre. Too bad, as it has a festive ambience of bright colors as you might expect from a Mexican restaurant.

Really nice place, cool ambience, the house Margarita with hibiscus was outstanding. Solid Mexican food, did not disappoint. Will definitely be making a return trip.
Great location for a date at the end of a long week. Food was good. Frozen margs were okay. Location was cute tho.
Nice place, I always respect a restaurant that's been around for years. Food was solid and the place was quiet, so it was nice to bring a group of folks who like to talk there.
Wonderful authentic Mexican food. Superlative service. The desserts are divine! We'll be back!
The menu was exciting but the food itself was not. They need some help. The margarita was good and also the calamari. But tacos and enchiladas left much to be desired.
