A tasty menu typical for afternoon tea. We especially enjoyed the tea pairing. The staff poured a different variety with each course rather than bring an entire pot of one choice at the start of the meal.

THIS PLACE IS TO DIE FOR. Puts Laduree to shame. We accidentally forgot to check if it was gluten-free and they saved the day and made a whole gluten free lunch for my bestie! The tea pairing is amazing - I don't even care that much ab tea and this was AMAZING. Everyone come!

Lovely tea service in a beautiful intricately decorated brownstone. Tea sandwiches had fresh upscale ingredients - delicious. Loved the gazpacho served in a glass for sipping. Highly recommend for a delightful. Tea pairing was a fun twist. Good value compared to hotel tea prices.

Lady Mendls' was exceptional! The Food... The variety of unique tea offerings... The presentation... The atmosphere...The service. All sublime! I hadn't been in nearly 20 years (having moved out of state) and it did not disappoint! In fact, it's even better now! The cost was well in line with afternoon tea at other fine establishments. In fact, it was significantly less (and better!) than the best tea salon in the DC Metro area — and I dare say the rent on Lady Mendls' brownstone must be significantly more than any place one might find in DC! The service in particular was stellar! Whomever is recruiting & training the staff is doing a fantastic job! The servers were all so attentive. They anticipated our every need before we even voiced it. Well done! Look forward to returning!

The atmosphere and mismatched Victorian-era crockery are delightful. You step in and think you are in for a special experience. But we were very disappointed. The food was mediocre and the service absolutely terrible. One of our servers had no idea what he was serving us. Half the tea pairings were too weakly brewed. Out of the five courses, three were sweet and we ended up packing up the last two courses in to-go containers (and then grabbed a slice of pizza on our way home). Would have liked more savory choices at the start of tea, especially as we came hungry. At nearly $80 a person, this was a total waste of money for our group of four.Kid-friendliness: This place is not kid-friendly and too pricey.

I went with a friend to just do something different on a Sunday afternoon. The staff is lovely and incredibly attentive. We opted for the aftrrnoon tea with tea tasting. you would think you would be hungry with mini sandwiches and pastries , but it was perfectly satisfying. The environment was perfectly vintage and every bite was yummy!!!

Great experience, highly recommend. Everything looks so nice, music is pleasant, the service is great, and the toilet is clean. The 5 course fixed menue is filling, we couldn't finish all so took the desserts as take out. Great tea selection, and you can try all the teas, which is great. Sandwiches are yummy, so are scones and the poatato-leek soup, mille crepe was the best I ever had in the US. We will come back for sure!Vegetarian options: The whole menu is vegetarian besides the smoked salmon sanwich, which can be substitute upon request.

I came from Brooklyn.New York, it costs me a 100 on only for them to tell me that there are no kids allowed. Then they tell me that they'll make an exception. We haven't even sat down and they started to talk about my grandbaby. And judging her and telling us what she might do and the rules. She also said for us Not allowed the baby to get off of the chair. So how did she expect for us to drink any tea? She was very rude. She was the manager. Her name was Chris. This was very insulting to me and my daughter to judge a 3-year-old little girl that was sitting down. I do Recommend this place this place at all. I work with ABC News. She was not even the owner.I can't believe That they allow her to talk to people like that. I will not even give it a start. And people was complaining that the tea was cold I will arrange for you to see what happened on the news.

Lady Mendl's is an elegant tea house scenically located within an inviting Georgian townhouse in the heart of the Gramercy Park area, which has one of the only private parks in Manhattan, New York besides Jones Wood Garden, which lies between Lexington and Third Avenues from 65th and 66th Streets. "Great British Bake-Off" is the best show to binge, and Lady Mendl's made a picturesque, cozy setting, adorned with Victorian-era antiques, to enjoy traditional tea in grand English style where I enjoyed all kinds of fragrant, heavenly teas and savored an assortment of seasonal, crustless and dainty finger tea sandwiches, from smoked salmon to cucumber with cream cheese; vanilla and chocolate crepe cakes; scones with clotted cream and jam; and petit fours galore with 3 of my gal-friends on a charming Saturday afternoon sipping and noshing on delicious foods and drinks with the best service possible. A New Yorker, first, a foodie next, a tea lover, third, and as the biggest tea drinker, I got through several pots of their tea, enjoying it all: traditional English Breakfast, zesty Wonderland Rooibos, and soothing Moroccan Mint Green, amongst others. Lady Mendl's was the perfect spot for an enjoyable quintessential afternoon tea in a comfortable, welcoming Victorian-era home with a full feel of an afternoon tea experience, the tables decked with fancy proper china, and I savored a delicious selection of teas complemented by the delightful delicate bites.
