In my opinion, Lady Mendl's is the absolute best for afternoon tea in Manhattan. The freshly brewed loose leaf tea is regularly topped off and the savories and sweets are a delight for the eye; full of flavor and decadence. Lastly, the service is phenomenal! Alberto is the most attentive and knowledgeable server I have ever had at afternoon tea anywhere. Hands down, Lady Mendl's is a must try.
I have been to Lady Mendl's about 6-7 times over the years. It's always a wonderful experience. I love taking people who have not experienced tea in NYC before. The atmosphere is great and you totally forget the hustle and bustle of the busy city.The food is plentiful and the service is great.
We enjoyed the traditional 5 course tea tasting where we had a different tea with each course. The stand out food to me were the pumpkin and apple soup, egg salad and their scones with lemon curd were the best I've had. We also loved the setting and service. I would definitely recommend and will bringing others to enjoy.
