L'Artusi is a super popular Italian restaurant in the West Village. Reservations are tougher to get, but not impossible. The ambiance is very West Village chic- sleek and dark and crowded. There are two floors and the first floor has a nice bar area. The menu is definitely pasta focused, and there are only a handful of non pasta entree options. I got the bucatini with pancetta and pecorino, and it was delicious. The burrata was a nice appetizer, but the side order of focaccia was quite hard. I recommend the chocolate cinnamon cookies for dessert, and I enjoyed their Swimsuit Season cocktail. Overall I had a great experience here, but considering the prices and level of difficulty to get a reservation, I wouldn't say that I would actively return.

Great lasagna and the best Negroni I had while in New York

We had such a wonderful dinner, savoring every bite.
The cacio e pepe was incredibly flavorful, dense, and perfectly chewy. The swordfish offered an amazing variety of textures — crispy on the outside yet juicy and deeply flavorful inside. Truly the best pasta we’ve ever had. The olive oil cake with raisins was so unique and surprisingly delightful. A memorable meal all around!

A dining experience next to none from the service, (and that is a very professional experience),ambience and delicious food. Every morsel of food from starter to sweet was exquisite, wine, cocktails and a excellent port to finish. Please ignore the negative posts and try for yourself. I am on my 1st trip to New York City and with all its marvellous memories L'Artusi will stand out.

Good food and attentive service. We were only able to get a bar seating reservation. We weren’t facing the kitchen side, so it was a bit of an awkward view. A lot of business people/business meeting type dinners around us.
Food wise- it was great!

We ordered a couple drinks, appetizer, bread service and our mains and since then we never‘ve seen our waitress again (who was so nice btw). Bread was old and hard, we didn’t touch it for this reason (just half of piece), we needed salt for our octopus, we needed pepper for our meal and of course, another round of drinks but we never have been asked for ANYTHING. We try to look for our server but she just desapeared. Everybody looked so nice but we just didn’t get any service from out waitres after she took the order. Food was ok.

Can't seem to get a reservation for Via Carota, I Sodi, etc? Give this place a try. The food is just as great. Wonderful people on staff. You will not be disappointed.

The service was amazing, unfortunately the food was just not it: the burrata was sent out already cut, the bread was so hard it hurt my teeth and the cacio and pepe portion was really small.

The service at L'Artusi was truly top-notch. Our server was exceptionally nice and so knowledgeable, helping us select a fantastic bottle of wine in such a pleasant way. The food was just as good; the Wagyu carpaccio was divine. I can't wait to go back!

The food was spectacular. We had the shishito peppers, cacio e pepe, the garlic spaghetti & the lamb ragu pasta. Everything was super yummy. The staff were also wonderful. Would 100% come back.

First came in 2019 and happy to see it’s still just as good in 2025!

I've ready the many reviews about poor service and mediocre food but I'm here to tell you both were outstanding in every sense. We've eaten in probably 20 countries in some of the finest restaurants and this experience would rate in the top 3. Everything was outstanding without exception. Expect to pay a premium but it, for us, was well worth it. It's a bit loud with all the conversation which would be the only slight negative.
