The setting was so amazing. Calm, chill, easy to have a conversation. We loved the ragu, the broccoli rabe and the panacotta was oh so perfect. The wait staff was very gracious. We will return!
This was my 5th visit to Lavagna and it never disappoints. If you're craving legit Italian food that actually feels like Italy, Lavagna on the Lower East Side is a must. It's cozy, unpretentious, and packed with charm. The food and service are both outstanding. Robby was beyond accommodating with his excellent wine recommendations, meal selections, and allowing us to stay for over 3.5 hours. Prices are reasonable for NYC and the portions are solid. Delicious trattoria food, phenomenal wine list, and a warm, lively vibe. I've been coming here since it opened in 1999, and even though I moved out of the neighborhood many years ago, it is still and by far my favorite Italian in the East Village and well worth the trip to Alphabet City.
