I always visit le pain restaurants, in various parts of the world. Argentina, Europe etc.
They always treated me well and I always ate well, except for this particular place where they asked me not to leave a tip, which is voluntary, and the toilet was not in good condition. Other le pain restaurants in New York had much superior service.

Can I simply say this is the most beautiful French cafe?! The waiters were pleasant & the maitre de Babu was bubbling over with enthusiasm for his work. So often in the restaurant industry people are only looking for a stop gap…but not Babu. He clearly loves his work and is so passionate about what he does. So I asked him how long he has been there and I was surprised & delighted when he said 12 years! Well there is a reason & he is the perfect person for the job. I hope you get a chance to meet him - I was in town for an audition and this was the perfect “calm” before a big moment. I am so ever grateful to find a little sanctuary in this cafe. They didn’t rush me & I felt so welcomed that I even came back after the audition for a ham & cheese Croissant. ☕️ Oh & you must try the chicken soup with Harissa as well as the “year round” pumpkin spiced latte! It is seriously the best I have ever had. Bravo Babu & staff! 👏

Walking into this restaurant felt like stepping into a cozy little French bistro with its inviting atmosphere. The kind of place where you half expect a charming server to recommend the perfect wine pairing in a thick Parisian accent. That was not the case.
Instead, our server seemed to be in the middle of an existential crisis. Taking our order felt like a chore, listening was optional, and waters arrived sometime around dessert (or at least that’s how it felt).
But then—the food arrived. Fresh, fast, and absolutely delicious. The kind of meal that makes you forget minor inconveniences like thirst. So, despite the service feeling like an afterthought, I still loved the place. I’ll be back, hopefully to a slightly cheerier server, but either way, I’ll just bring my own water bottle next time.

I’ve been stopping by Le Pain Quotidien on W68th just off Columbus Avenue every morning on my way to the office, at Brown Harris Stevens. Most days, I’m greeted by either Lily or Patricia who are always happy to see me and know exactly how I like my lattes ! On many occasions, I’ll also pick up breakfast or lunch which are consistently fresh and delicious. And while I try to make healthy choices, I am in love with their large chocolate chip cookies which I try to limit to special occasions! Lily and Patricia are always smiling and empathetic to all the customers as well as the servers who are often in need of desserts for the guests in their spacious dining room. Coming to Le Pain Quotidien has become one of my favorite morning rituals in large part due to the wonderful service I receive!

I didn't know you couldn't have a table if you ordered at the counter. When I got my coffee and asked if I could sit at one of the many open tables, the waitress seated me at another group's table instead of just telling me I couldn't have a table if I ordered at the counter?

Welcoming, relaxed, quiet, spacious cafe with natural wood tables and decor, display of creative pastries and hand made rustic bread. Lattées are served in 12 and 16 ounce ceramic cups ( without handles) almost like soup bowl, with decorative swirls on top of beverage. I tried a Macha lattée. Excellent authentic taste, but I added agave. Hot Chocolate is steamed milk of your choice with a mini pitcher of hot melted chocolate that you pour into your bowl of steamed milk!
Dietary restrictions: All dairy lattes are offered with dairy-free oat or almond. Assorted sweeteners: agave, honey, types of sugar.
