The service at Le Pain Quotidien was completely unacceptable and far below expectations. The staff needs significant improvement when it comes to customer service.

While the pastries might be tasty, it simply does not justify walking in and receiving such unpleasant treatment from the team. A positive experience is about more than just food, and unfortunately, this place failed to deliver. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they make serious changes to their approach to customer care.

Great pastries and good food. All coffee drinks come in a bowl. Not a cup, this wasn't my preference.

Wife and I were looking for a hot chocolate and saw that they had a Belgian Hot Chololate... Worst Hot Chocolate in NY! Actually, calling it Hot Chocolate is a LIE as it is hot milk with coloring. It doesn't taste like chocolate...

Cold soup, stale bread, slow and confused service. A true disaster.

Prohibitive prices, deplorable reception. We were refused the opportunity to be seated after we ordered.

Good food and service in a tidy setting.

We stopped here for brunch with a few friends. The dining area manages to feel less crowded than most NY cafes.

I had the 3 egg breakfast which was mostly good. It has that popular NY theme of salad for breakfast. How did that happen? Also the gluten-free toast wasn't worth the effort.

My wife had the quiche and loved it. The espresso drinks were fresh and my quad espresso was smooth with a nice crema.

Other than the stab at gluten-free toast this was worth a repeat.

Dietary restrictions: The gluten-free bread was some sort of seed bread with tough edges and a tender center. Not great but at least there's an option.

I’ve been here 2x’s and the pastries here are really tasty and fresh. Coffee was pretty good too and the eating establishment of this storefront was pretty cozy and brings a feeling of wealth✨

It looks better than what it is, if you're lucky you sit on high stools to have breakfast, for what they cost it's not worth it

We ordered several boxes of take out pastries to carry (happily) back to our hotel room. Overall, we were very pleased with the items, but mostly excited by the prices - for fancy pastries in the heart of NYC, this place did not break the bank! The fruit tarts, brownie souffle, and iced green tea were the best of the bunch. Would visit again in a heart beat. We did note that seated, restaurant style breakfast was also being served in the back. It was quite refined (even if it was in a windowless back room) - but if you're a tourist on a budget, we suggest sticking to the pastry counter :)

The French cream doughnut is a gift from the heavens. All of their pastries and baked goods are excellent!
