Line was long, around a 2 hour wait. The starter salad was delicious, but the main course was slightly underwhelming. Both the steak and fries were kind of average, not much to say about them

The steak, fries, and salad had no flavor at all. The steak itself was probably one of the worst I've ever had. Their “secret sauce” didn’t help either.

The tables are packed too closely together, making it feel like you're eating on a giant table surrounded by too many people. We tried to move our table a little to create more space, but the waitress just shoved it back without any warning. On top of that, the whole restaurant was extremely loud.

I probably won't be returning!

The steak was well-prepared, though not the best I’ve ever had. The waitresses were friendly but seemed somewhat hectic and disorganized. What was particularly disappointing was that after we left a 10% tip, the waitress didn’t even say thank you or goodbye—she simply walked away from the table, which felt quite disrespectful. If I had the option to adjust the tip afterward, I would have chosen not to leave one. This was frustrating, as the quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere would have warranted an overall positive experience.

An emblematic spot, with the perfect food, but the service was a little poor. We feel like we have to finish and go out super fast...

When they say last seating at 10:30 pm it mean they will be cleaning the restaurant beside you and flipping the chairs and mopping beside you! worst $250 I spent. and when we provided feedback the server was arguing with us instead of being receptive.

We had an absolutely delightful dining experience! The steak and fries were perfection as always! served with golden, crispy fries that were impossible to resist!. The salad dressing is delicious and the profiteroles were the ultimate indulgence. You cant go wrong choosing to eat in this great spot.

Food was good. Service wasn’t great. Had to wait a long time for the bathroom because of how poorly organized it was.

I'm going to give this 5 stars because the food was exactly what we wanted. However... it's definitely not for everyone. They call it a set menu, but it doesn't change. It's steak frites and if you're surprised by that (which I would understand) they are quite unforgiving (the answer to any question you may have is "no"). As for this being a "typical" French restaurant, I'd have to disagree. The service might be as hautain as in Paris, but Paris isn't a great representation of France as a country. And where in France (even in Paris) a dinner can easily take multiple hours, in this place you're in and out in under an hour. Even if you try to take your time. Everything about this feels like Americans trying to mimic a French dining experience from watching a movie. They even serve salad BEFORE dinner, which is unheard of in France.

However, once you know all this and are fully prepared for mediocre service and atmosphere, the food makes up for it and then some. The salad is quite enjoyable, but the steak frites is to die for. That sauce... Oh man, that sauce... The wine list is also actually good, which is refreshing after a week in NYC. Although you really can pick only a few if you're looking for the best pairing.

Don't bother getting the crème brûlée if you're expecting it to taste as rich and smooth as in France, but it's not too bad if you just want something sweet. The profiteroles also looked great.

Vegetarian options: None

Kid-friendliness: I wouldn't go with small kids, you're basically sitting right next to other diners.

I've been to a Le Relais in Paris so knew this would be good and it was. Same décor, waitresses in the same uniform for the same familiar brand experience.

House salad with walnuts and dressing was simple but delicious- brought out on small plates as a first course.

Followed by truly delicious pre-sliced sirloin cooked either blue, rare or medium (your choice), with house sauce and frites. If the portion initially appears small don't worry, they replenish your plate with several additional slices of steak, sauce and fries.

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great steak which is not overpriced (at the time of writing it is $38 excluding NY sales tax) then I highly recommend this place.

$38 for two servings of sliced sirloin (about 9-10 slices total) and fries. The sauce is what keeps things together, otherwise steak is just meh. Not a lot of space between tables so private conversations and gossip are out.

Amazing steak with generous portions of fries. They serve half of the steak to you and then come back with the other half when you’re finishing the first half. The service was good and it’s a nice place to sit and talk. Highly recommended for steak for about $50/person.

NYC outpost of the restaurant that was started in Paris. It's fun, and it appears that you no longer have to wait in line to get in. As others have said, it's one menu - salad and steak frites and then several choices for dessert and wine. Service was very friendly and efficient. Just want to correct something that the gentleman below, Daniel Liu, said that it's "unlimited meat". They break up the steak frites into two servings but that's all you get. It is definitely not unlimited.

Honesty this experience was worth the wait. There was quite a long line and the wait was about 45 minutes to an hour but wow was this worth it. Steak was cooked perfectly every time and the fries were so delicious. My favorite part was the sauce. Such a good combination. The desserts were okay. I’m pretty sure we got each dessert and they all kind of tasted the same lol. But I would defiantly come back for the steak and fries.
