Les Gateaux de Marie - Bakery - Cake shop - Café - Upper East Side

I was looking everywhere for a bakery that could do a matcha flavored birthday cake for my boyfriend’s birthday and the team at Les Gateaux de Marie was so amazing and accommodating. Everyone loved the cake and couldn’t stop talking about it, the cake was perfectly sweet, light and airy, and all of the staff were SO KIND. Will be back again and again! Thank you for making his birthday so special!

Owned and run by a wonderful couple. The deserts you will get here are probably the best you will find in New York. The tarts and cakes, especially the triple moose chocolate is out of this world.

This cake shop is amazing!! They went above and beyond with helping me when I was planning for my daughter's birthday. The cupcakes we got turned out even better than the picture and were delicious!

Terrible attitude of the workers, everything delicious

Got the popular pistachio raspberry cake slice and the mango passion fruit mousse cake. They were both great. The cake slice looks slim but is quite filling. The mango passionfruit mousse had a coconut base which was a little too sweet but the tanginess from the mousse balanced it well. Overall, it’s a decent spot to go to for those sweet cravings.

It’s hard to find real French 🇫🇷cakes in New York. Americans like to eat sugar, which is a favorite of obese people and one of the taboo foods for diabetics. I thought I could find French pastries here, but I was disappointed.
American cakes and pastries are junk food!

I had a great experience with this bakery. They made my daughter's birthday cake above and beyond what I asked for and even delivered it to the birthday venue. I also have gotten nut-free treats from them for a school birthday celeration which were a huge hit.

I recently ordered a custom cake that I honestly didn’t expect anyone would be able to pull off—but they did, and it was incredible! The cake not only looked amazing but was also delicious. The owner is extremely kind and helpful, taking the time to ensure every detail was just as I had envisioned. It was clear she put a lot of effort and care into making the cake perfect. We were beyond happy with the result, and it truly made our celebration memorable. I highly recommend this bakery for anyone looking for custom, beautiful, and tasty cakes!

We have used Les Gateaux a couple of times now and will be back for more I’m sure . Her cakes taste delicious and her customer service goes above and beyond . We were in a pinch for a quick turn around for a birthday party cake and she made it happen for us . Very pleased and so were our guests .

Very disappointed with the taste of the cake,
Design was simple to pay $200 dollars. Honestly the taste was like we got the cake to a grocery store, we were disappointed we couldn't eat on it and had to throw it to trash right after birthday was over. I really loved the taste of the cakes before, that's why i ordered my son's birthday cake. I don't think I'll go there anymore
