Libertine is a charming French bistro located in the West Village, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu features a variety of classic French dishes, with the country pâté, beef tartare, croque monsieur, and duck being standout favorites among diners. The Duck Deux Facons is a perfect combination of comfort and refinement, and the Gnocchi Parisienne, tartare de boeuf, and pommes dauphine are highly recommended. The seasonal tomato salad special has received praise for being to die for, and the chocolate mousse for dessert did not disappoint. The food is considered unbelievable, with many guests finding it extraordinary. The interior can be a bit loud, but it adds to the lively, great vibe of the place. The staff, including the welcoming manager and friendly waiter, make for a warm dining experience. The restaurant’s chic atmosphere is perfect for parties or dates, making it a great New York brasserie. The quiche is gigantic, and the croque monsieur is delicious and worth trying. The Calvados is also highly recommended for those who enjoy a chic drink. Overall, Libertine provides a French bistro style experience with remarkable food and a friendly environment, making it a popular choice for those seeking a taste of France in the heart of the West Village.
