Luthun was one of the more enjoyable dining experiences of our trip. The atmosphere felt lively and welcoming, which was a refreshing contrast to some of the more serious tasting-menu restaurants in the city. The service team struck a great balance—attentive but relaxed—and made the evening feel comfortable rather than overly formal.

What stood out most was the chef’s creativity. The menu felt thoughtful and imaginative, with dishes that pushed interesting flavor combinations while still being enjoyable to eat. You can feel the personality in the cooking, which made the experience engaging from start to finish.

Overall, it’s a place that feels both refined and approachable at the same time. If you’re looking for a tasting menu that is inventive without feeling stiff or overly traditional, Luthun delivers. I would absolutely return.

Was here with a couple of coworkers (one of them really really wanted to go 😂). The whole dinner was 8-9 course, took 3 hours (a little long in opinion 😄), featured several delicious courses, a few relatively interesting ones, and also one or two mediocre ones.

The only two I can recall a week later were the wagyu beef, which was the best course of the evening, and the taco, which was mediocre, primarily for being too salty.

None of us had wine, but the per-person before-tip bill was still $198 per person. Keeping the creativity and the beautiful presentation in mind, I felt this was slightly but not egregiously overpriced.

Nevertheless, would I again shell out $198 for the this experience? Highly doubtful

How does this not have a Michelin star? The food was creative, the presentation was delightful, and the flavors came together beautifully. The service was absolutely perfect: friendly and accessible but professional. Try to do the chef’s counter for the very best experience. Getting to watch their attention to detail as they prepare service is an absolute delight.

A truly exceptional experience. The diversity of cuisine is what sets this restaurant apart from other fine dining. Instead of creating
French inspired dishes like most fine dining establishments, this restaurant finds perfection in distinct genres of food. The taco, tortellini, and pani puri were stand out dishes that would make me come here again. The beverage package elevates the experience with a wide variety of drinks (not just wine) carefully curated to complement the food. Would recommend this place to any foodie or fan of fine dining.

Dinner at Luthun was a real treat. It feels like a cozy small restaurant where everyone is friendly, but the food is out of this world.
From the first bite each mouthful packs a punch with innovative flavors and spices and dry ice. We sat at the counter with 8 others and each course was served for the group altogether. The wines paired nicely and it was a real enjoyable experience.
Afterwards, Chef Nahid spoke with us a bit before we left.

The staff was very professional and accommodating. They were wonderful. You can tell they take pride in their craft.

The first two dishes were sublime. The fushka and shiitake cappuccino. I hope they don’t change those.

The rest of the dishes were delicious and the composition of the ingredients were creative! IMHO the basic flavoring got slightly redundant throughout the course with use of citrus or acid. Still good.

The portion size is small so you won’t walk away from the ten course tasting menu full. I would 100% opt for milk bread supplement.

Hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever been to. I worked in the UK as a chef for 8 years and last night was just incredible. From the setting, the food, the wine, the service, genuinely everything was class. How they don't have a star, let alone be on the guide is beyond me. Couldn't recommend it enough. Will be my first stop whenever I'm back in the city. All the team should be so proud. Great stuff!

Amazing food and great customer service! I don’t know why they haven’t gotten a Michelin star as of yet! The wine Sommelier Jahdea Gilden was top notch. This establishment should have a Michelin star rating!!!

There is not one thing I would change about this place. I'm a born and new Yorker. This is what the nyc experience should feel like. Not Paris. Not Milan. Not Singapore.

But.. nyc.

Impeccable. If you don't get it, it's because you.. don't get it.

Small, cozy, and intimate spot with a really welcoming vibe. The food was creative and flavorful, with influences from different cuisines that worked together beautifully. I especially enjoyed all the southeast Asian flavors! The staff were extremely kind and attentive, and they were very accommodating of dietary restrictions, which I really appreciate!

Amazing food and overall experience. Better than 3 Michelin star restaurants I have been to. The flavors & textures are not only bold but they are on point

One of the best meals on 2025

This restaurant deserves more accolades as its so refreshing to see a chef snd team backing themselves and pulling off not just doing safe food

This is probably my favorite restaurant in NYC. It’s insane that they don’t have more recognition. I’ve been to well over half the Michelin star restaurants in the city, and Luthun is by far more creative and welcoming than anywhere else I’ve been.

The food is ridiculously delicious, and perfectly portioned for a satisfying and decadent meal. I love how the chefs combine culinary profiles from around the world into one exquisite journey. The only similar place I’ve ever eaten was Gaggan in Bangkok.

I’ve already been here a handful of times, and I can’t wait to return again and again.

A global experience inspired by chef’s journey throughout the world with a kick ass drink pairing. You know the restaurant is serious when they source bread from Pennsylvania!
