Luthun is a must if you are in NY. Heck, if you are within a days travel, you must try this nondescript East Village spot headed by chef Nahid. Each course of the tasting menu provoked visions of far off lands, yet there was a comforting familiarity. The service matched the extraordinary food and was refined, but not pretentious. A truly memorable experience.
One of the best meals of my life - couldn’t recommend it enough! Dishes were brilliant with diverse flavors blending perfectly and stunning plating. Service was perfect and the sommelier was exceptional. Already planning when we can come back!
I love Asian flavors and was amazed by creative, unique and at the same time harmonious combinations in each dish. Unfortunately, I had to take two stars off because of the quality of meat that is expected to be excellent when you pay over $200! The piece of meat in short ribs dish was tiny and mostly FAT. I left pretty much all of it on my plate. The chef instead of asking if there is anything wrong with it and offering to replace it, as most restaurants would do, simply asked...
