We’ve visited the last two times being in NYC (flying in from Pittsburgh) and will go out of our way to make it here on future visits. The people are incredibly friendly and provide all the little details about each course. The owner is a mad scientist, took the time to speak with us a little bit today, and couldn’t have been more kind. The flavors are unique, the sweetness is perfect, the ingredients are top quality, and the skill needed to pull these creations off is insane.
Please understand that price is what you pay, and value is what you get. The price and value are in favor of the guest here for sure.
Their packing for their Christmas cakes is terrible. My wife and I ordered a vanilla cake and got home to a mushed monstrosity. Not cool…
Lives up to the hype. Simply amazing. Make a reservation, don't depend on the kindness of others magically cancelling their reservations.
Really pretty pastries but very much not anything delicious when it comes to taste. Mostly aesthetic value and very expensive.
Amazing art like desserts, great friendly staff and must try experience!
Instagram-hype desserts with long waits to dine in. Very much Lady-M-ten-years-ago vibes.
The desserts are delicious but travel poorly. Best to eat them nearby.
Came to try their famous Lysee & Corn desserts. They were both beautiful but didn’t taste that great. The Kouign Amann was actually the star of the show and was really delicious!
i used to work near here and whenever i had a stressful day i would come here after and buy something and it would make me feel better.
my fav is the lysee. and the lysee signature ice cream. and the kouign amann. and the corn brioche. and the pain au chocolat.
Stop removing negative reviews. Accept the criticisms. If u r charging almost 20dol for a pastry, expect feedbacks especially when the ingredients used are heavily processed white sugar and enriched inflammatory flour.
It was 4th time visiting Lycee today.
I was treating my friend today and she loved how pretty desserts are. The second floor has a showroom and you could get to-go orders.
And the coffee was so good. My drink Maeshil sunset had Green Plum, Fresh Orange Juice, Yuja, and Sparkling Water in it.
Restaurantji Recommends
Exceptional experience from start to finish. The pastries were truly outstanding, each one perfectly executed with incredible finesse. Chef Eunji is remarkable and her talent shines through in every detail. The service was warm, welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for top level pastry and a memorable experience.
Love the signature cake and all the pastries. Everything enhances all the flavors of the ingredients not just dousing in sugars. Only missing 5 starts cuz I still want to enjoy on site.
Great desserts and great service. Janet , Jason and Robin were awesome
It really is that good—
Skip the cob and get the quiche and the pear tart. Quiche was up there with the best I’ve ever had. The pear tart is beautiful marriage of flavors and textures.
Service is decent if not performatively pretentious as is so commonly seen in nyc eateries once they get press.
Get what looks good to you and what you normally enjoy and you won’t be disappointed.
+2 for presentation. - 3 for price and taste. Don't get the corn pastry, it's not worth it. The lysee is alright. There was a citrus/fruit one we also tried, it was good but not $18 good.
