I'm always on the lookout for good bakeries. And when I say "always", I mean it. I'm constantly looking for another source of tasty pastries. Even after years of being in New York, my standard for bakery excellence is Mah-Ze-Dahr. They do everything so well- their croissant monkey bread is crave-worthy (with crunchy flakes of sugar pearls and orange blossom glaze and bits of real croissant), their carrot cake is insanely moist with just the right amount of decadent cream cheese frosting, their brioche donut is amazing, their sourdough croissants have got that uber-buttery flakiness. My mom raves about their scones, and I've heard great things from friends about other items, too, both savory and sweet. In short, you cannot go wrong with Mah-Ze-Dahr. It's so consistent, and so delicious.

Bought a fresh cinnamon roll 3 weeks ago, it was great. Then I bought one again today and they clearly gave me a day old one. At $10 per roll this is not acceptable. It was so dry that it went straight to the garbage

Amazing chocolate ganache cake. We brought a cake not knowing that there were 5 others at this bday party.. everyone only ate ours, so the host had 5 cakes leftover

I’m a dog trainer who travels from neighborhood to neighborhood in NYC, dog sitting and training in-home, and this is by FAR my favorite community coffee shop. The staff are always attentive and friendly, and the owners make you feel as welcome as you might feel in a small town. Their French bulldog welcomes canine and human guests warmly, when the weather is nice and she feels like running the shop. Oh, and the coffee and pastries are heads above the rest. I drool thinking of them.

The mocha almond croissant is so unique and has a ton of mocha chocolate filling. I didn't taste any almond in the filling but the croissant was still delicious. I actually went on 2 different days and they were quite different. One was much larger than the other and had more almonds on top. The 2nd was coated in what I'm assuming was powdered sugar.

The cheesecake is so worth having. Light but very creamy.

Great friendly faces and service who are serving grumpy un-caffeinated (yet!) New Yorkers (myself included)

amazing pastries, tasted very fresh.we got the brioche donut, mocha almond croissant, and monkey bread croissant. the brioche donut is a must; it was filled with cream, extremely fluffy, and not too sweet. the mocha almond croissant was heavenly. it was perfectly layered, decadent, and well-textured. not the biggest fan of the monkey bread croissant but great for someone who wants to experience a new twist on monkey bread. overall really great and will def be coming back for the brioche donut!

Mocha almond croissant - sounds like a great way to mask the inability to make good frangipane. The croissant was hard, semi burnt, super sweet mess.Their tip options start at 25%. Why so greedy ?Aux merveilleux de fred has infinitely better croissants for $3.90Do better!!

I came on a Friday afternoon and there was a flow of people in and out. The service was quick though. There's a good amount of seating inside whether at the tables across the counter or in the back area. What we ordered: Almond mocha croissant $7.50 Banana bread $5 Toffee cookie (cookie of the month) $2.75 Old Fashioned Doughnut $5.75 Slice olive oil cake $7 Cinnamon roll $10 The mocha croissant was buttery and flakey! I liked the strong mocha flavor! Banana bread could be more banana-y but lil sugar specks on top give nice crunchy texture. Their cookie of the month is toffee flavored and delicious like nostalgic butterscotch cookies but ~elevated~! Get the old fashioned donut!! it has a nice bite, fried crispy outside, soft center and not too sweet! might be the best donut i've ever had! it was my first time trying olive oil cake and this slice was moist and soft with strong olive oil taste which is an acquired taste that i got used to, but kinda expensive for the size. The cinnamon roll was huuuge! it was soft and bready with a cream cheese frosting on top.

Disappointed by the lack of options. The carrot cake was very good. The cookies were nothing special.

This was my first time setting foot into the West Village Mah-Ze-Dahr though I've visited one of their other locations. Their chocolate chip cookies ($2.50), to quote a coworker, are fire. While I can never turn down the colossal versions from Levain or Chip City, there is something to be said about the classic chocolate chip cookie. Here, the ratios of dark chocolate chunks, butter, and sea salt sprinkled on top are ideal. And texture-wise, not too crisp and not too flimsy. The cookie of the month happened to be red velvet which was intriguing but couldn't quite tear me away from the chocolate chip cookies. The employees who assisted me were kind, and the shop was tight but adorable, with some tables and chairs for drinking drinks and devouring desserts. I wasn't sure about the ordering system since I'm used to queuing up at that other location, but from observing the bossy lady who came in after me and immediately made her order known, it looks like you speak up and grab someone's attention when you're ready.

This place has the most amazing pastries and vanilla oat latte — and trust me, I have a sweet tooth and love coffee. 1000/10 recommend and the staff is so nice, quick, and smiley. Great
