This is in no way a great restaurant, or even outstanding. Food id unexceptional though good. It is obscenely expensive. $900 for two with wines by the glass Not recommended.

This restaurant has an incredibly gorgeous interior. It is the epitome of style. Service is outstanding. But the food is very average and the prices are extraordinary.

I think this may be the best place I have had afternoon tea in the city. The service was excellent. Costa treated us so well and made us feel so special. The space is absolutely stunning as well as all the Dior tableware. The desserts and sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever had. Each one was great. We also ordered the dips which are a must. I appreciate we could switch tea flavors. I also liked that we got the scones after, so there was enough room on the table for all the jams and cream.

Typical heavy French cream sauces. Not bad but not great either. Weird layout of dining room. Very chopped up.

So Tasty!!! UPDATE again: returned 3rd time on 3-5-2022. Again this place was perfect. Best food and best service in town. Again Henry was our server. He is the best in town. He loves food and is super knowledgeable. He recommended many dishes for us. She wanted a Caesar salad which they do not offer, but he had them make her one somehow. She said it was made with rainbows and sunshine and loved it. Granddaughter had artichoke ravioli which she loved as well. Made with a rich beef brown sauce that is full of flavor. Desserts were the best. I had the Grand Marnier souffle and the pistachio souffle. She had the Oeuf a la Neige which is the photo with the gold spun sugar and the white "island" underneath. It is heavenly. This is one of the best places in town and very romantic with lots of "marriage points" for me. Be sure to check out all of the living rooms attached to the Restaurant for a drink before or after dinner. There are a lot of them so don't just stop in the bar out front, Be sure to explore all of the living rooms. They are really great with lots of private spaces and they smell terrific!!! We love this place. UPDATE: returned on 2-7-2022 and it was 5 stars again. They offered the 3 course meal for $145 and it was well worth it. Maria started with snails in round fried balls with sauce INSIDE which were really tasty. I started with salmon tartare which was really good. She had a half chicken for dinner. The brought out the whole chicken before cutting it up which was a nice presentation. See photos. A half chicken is a lot of chicken but she gave me some and I loved it. Very juicy with lots of flavors. I had the rack of lamb served rare which was cooked perfectly and LOTS of meat. I loved it. Desserts again did not disappoint. We had one soufflé (we should have ordered all 3) and the chocolate mouse and meringue ball (I am not sure what it is called so show them the photo). All of the desserts are super fabulous. Great date night, very romantic, lots of marriage points for me!!!! We LOVE this place and will be back many times. Perfect service and lovely room. ORINGINAL REVIEW: Great food, great service and a glorious setting. Very romantic, but also great for bigger parties. Henry was our server and he has been in this business longer than most and is more knowledgeable than most in the food industry. Started off with the snails. Their interpretation is the best I have ever had. Each one is rolled in some breading or dough, Fried and then presented on whipped potatoes with a fantastic sauce on top. Very original and the best I have had. She had the Salmon "Duo" which was salmon 2 ways. Smoked with lots of smokey flavor and also as a tartare with green apples. Again very original and super delicious. Main courses I had the famous Dover sole. Excellent. She had the filet which was perfect. For desserts we had the chocolate mousse which was light and dark chocolate taste which we loved. I love souffle so I ordered the Grand Mainer. It was super good. The couple in the next booth told me they also loved the Pistachio and the Chocolate Souffles. The final moment was reserved for the Oeuf A La Neige. I had no idea what that was but check out my photos below and look for the yellow ball filled with white cloud like meringue like insides. I am still not sure what it was but it was like eating a slice of heaven. Best of the best. I cannot stress to you how good it was. it is inside the Lowell Hotel and is attached to 2 other rooms that also offer different foods and drinks. Follow us if you like. Check out all of our reviews. We celebrated our 1st year anniversary and were impressed by the food & service. Unfortunately, the only thing missing was music. They had a technical difficulty that day. Highly recommend
Beautiful tangerine trees in the (indoor) garden area, with fruit and fragrant blossoms. Beautiful real roses on the tables. The review in the New York Post said the chair backs were painful in 2017, and they still are. Waiters are friendly but not always perfectly competent, asking too often to clear plates and not knowing which diner has ordered which plate.
The choices on the menu are attractive, classical French with some Asian (curry) and Moroccan influences. Good foie gras. Missing salt in the tomato base for the sweetbreads, which were in lumps that are too big. The duck breast was too big, with just one roasted peach. New York French restaurants should learn from France, with smaller portions of meat and bigger portions of the fruits and vegetables. Good chocolate mousse and Moroccan mint tea.
Overpriced even by high-end New York standards: $500 all-in for three courses and one drink each for two people. You can fly to Paris for less, and you should.

An absolutely sublime experience from beginning to end. We opted for the 3 course dinner option and informed our waiter that we had to be at a performance 90 minutes later. The entire staff was extremely solicitous and instantly anticipated any needs before we could even request them and the food was positively scrumptious while emphasizing freshness and beautiful presentation: To top it all off , the meal ended with time to spare!
It is perfect place, very classy and suave! The Dior porcelain and perfect ambiance ! Food was good but the selection not as tasty as other places I've been! Service outstanding! Value was great since we had an offer 2 for 1! But at $150 a person they may need to up their food game! Service , again was outstanding! ??
