The rigatoni al pesto was way too salty, not worth the price

I recently visited this restaurant in New York and was blown away. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Mauro, whom I first got to know at Antica Pesa – he’s incredibly talented. The restaurant itself is simple and unpretentious, but the food is absolutely superb. Every dish is full of flavor and clearly prepared with skill and passion. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine.

This place is mid at best. First of all, neglectful staff. Hostess doesn’t care about the comfort of her patrons. Half of my meal I was blinded by sunlight. The restaurant was completely empty and they didn’t offer to move us. Instead they asked me to move my chair so as not to block a path that no server was traveling down. I had to ask for pepper and Parmesan. Neither were fresh and the carbonara was not tasty. The salad was also too salty. It’s unfortunate to pay over 25 dollars for a pasta that doesn’t taste good. The lemonade was decent but I would hope so at $7 a glass.

Absolutely fantastic. It was a beautiful day, so we ate at a table on the sidewalk. Every bite of food was amazing. We got the calamari as an appetizer and various pastas for mains. Mine was the spaghetti alle vonghole (with claims), and it was impeccable. Our server was lovely and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. Can't wait to come back.

The food was really good, and the hostess was very kind to let us change tables three times
This was the best experience and food I’ve had in a long time! We had 8 of us and did family style and every meal that came out was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend trying this place!

Great food, wine, and service. The kind of Italian restaurant where everyone working there speaks Italian. Can get very busy on the weekend, but the wait is worth a table in this intimate spot.
Wanted a neighborhood Italian experience in NYC on a recent visit with family. Everything was fine, but nothing really shone. The limited bar options are a negative, for sure. You can only get the four or five cocktails they have on the menu. Wine is more robust. Had carbonara that was over-egged and lacked the appropriate egg/cheese balance. Caprese salad was pretty mid. Proximity to High Line was a bonus for an after-dinner walk.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD LASAGNA!! I love this place but they changed the recipe for the lasagne. The old creamy version was so good I would come every few weeks for it. Now it’s gone :( other than that, this place is still lovely and great

Malaparte — A West Village Classic!
Malaparte delivers a truly memorable dining experience. The ambiance is effortlessly cozy & romantic, perfect for a casual evening or special night out.
We started with the calamari — light, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the tuna avocado salad, which was bright, balanced, and beautifully refreshing. The burrata struck a perfect mix between being both creamy and indulgent, setting the tone for an incredible meal.
The cacio e pepe was everything you want from this Roman classic: rich, peppery, and silky smooth (I’m drooling just thinking about it). We also tried a seasonal pasta special that’s no longer on the menu, but was truly exceptional and showcased the kitchen’s finesse.
Great wine list, friendly and attentive service, and a vibe that makes you want to linger (the whole service team gives off super familial vibes).
Can’t wait to go back!!

Pasta carbonara was almost without bacon at all - what a shame! Pizza taste was just ok.

Very disappointing experience, portion sizes were incredibly small (we ordered the ravioli and the truffle pappardelle) which felt like small appetizers and were around $28 each. The service, however, was the most dissatisfying aspect. We waited 30 minutes to get our bill, our waiter never returned to our table so we had to flag someone else down to drop off the check. We then waited another 30 minutes without any one stopping by to take our payment, so again we had to flag someone down. They were not busy from the looks of the open tables, our server was just incredibly inattentive and we sat there waiting to leave for over an hour.
