Very good, 4/5 stars. When I came in, one of the people behind the counter understood and spoke very good English. The sponge cakes are pretty good! The milk tea definitely more milky, but it's still pretty good. There's a lot of bun in the hot dog bun; I've had better, but this one wasn't terrible. There is a counter at the back if you want to sit in and eat.
The best egg tart. Grew up eating them from Manna and after all these years the quality is still the same. Service is quick like all other Cantonese bakeries, usually in and out of the store in 2-3 minutes. I always pay cash. All three of their stores have the same quality egg tarts, definitely worth a try!
My favorite old school Chinatown bakery. Sometimes there's a line, sometimes you need to make your presence known to get any attention from the staff, who speak predominantly Cantonese, some Mandarin, and a smidge of English. The prices are reasonable (cash only). My favorites are the little cupcakes, walnut cake (it's walnut poundcake in a cupcake wrapper), the paper wrapped sponge cakes, ham and egg bun (<$2), whole wheat rolls with raisins, and Hong Kong style...
