An unassuming little grab and go place with really great drinks, at very affordable prices no less! The staff were so friendly and helpful as well. I downloaded their app immediately after trying them and I've started coming here regularly when I'm working.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped by Matto Espresso in the city the other day and tried their iced caramel hand-shaken espresso for the first time—absolutely amazing. I wasn’t expecting much, but wow… smooth, just the right amount of sweet, and super refreshing.
I live out on Long Island and sadly there aren’t any locations near me, but this will definitely be a must-stop anytime I’m back in the city. Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re nearby—you won’t regret it.

I just bought an iced coffee with an almond croissant. The counter person was warm & friendly. My low review is because I got stale food. The coffee was fine. But the almond croissant was terrible, almost inedible. Without asking, the counter person began heating up the croissant. This seemed very very strange, but in the moment thought, okay, that's what they do here at Matteo. I have never ever had a heated croissant unless it came directly out of the oven, fresh. But I alerted them that I didn't want mine heated. They immediately gave me another one and I went about my way. No problem! However, when I got home (20 min. later) and sat down to enjoy it, immediately/in one bite discovered it was dense & stale. This now makes me believe that this is a policy at Matteo. Staff must be instructed to heat pastries up to mask the staleness. (Or do they buy them this way?) Why would you heat-up/microwave a perfectly fresh croissant!? Or not ask the customer first? I don't fault the employee at all. Their automatic turn to heat the pastry up is something that they must have been told to do; not something they decided to do on their own. Please be wary if you are expecting fresh pastries at this establishment & the others. For the owners/managers - if you have left over pastries (like flaky croissants) do NOT sell them - give them away instead. Because of this I am not likely to be a returning customer. ☹️

I ordered iced coffee mocha and asked the lady if I could get an extra pump of chocolate because she only gave me one. She was charging and extra money for it. Unbelievable.
